      All,

I am curious if there is any interest in another Baja trip in 2026. We did discuss the possibility on the last trip in Jan 2025 and I am all game if there is additional interest.

      Thoughts?

Hey TC, thanks for launching this.  It always makes me happy to see member-generated rides.

Are you thinking a weekend or longer?  Here’s a rough idea of where you can go.

          • Weekend.  Ensenda, San Felipe, Tecate.
          • Week. Ensenda, San Quintin, Guerrero Negro (whale watching), San Felipe, Tecate, home.

Peak season for whale watching is Feb-Mar.

If in March, I might be interested.

Retired, mid weeks are less crowded, but understand most are still working.

My tank on 1250 GS holds 5.2 gallons, ride fast, tank goes empty fast, ride under 70 and might get 230 miles on a tank of fuel. Fill-up locations can be scarce in Baja, the further south you go.

I would definitely attend a longer ride to Loreto or La Paz.

To San Ignacio might interest me, maybe Loreto.

I’ve already been on plenty of whale watching trips, seen them lots of times on fishing trips. No desire to get motion sickness again.

What does not interest me, when visiting somewhere like Baja, is 300 miles in a day, when most of Baja is 2 lane highways.  That’s rushing,  commuting and boring. Need time for stops and to see landmarks and history. 250 in a day seems more reasonable, to me. Retired, not worth getting in trouble with the Po Po down in Baja for speeding, for this Gringo.

I just did 4 days in Baja with a base camp in San Felipe and day rides around the area. Love Baja and it’s great weather early in the year.
