I can’t wait to ride San Diego County with you all.  I’m sure many of you have enjoyed a lot of what SD has to offer but hopefully there’ll be a few interesting points along the ride.  I’m still weighing a few decisions for routing with the hot weather, ride timing and traffic in mind so please anticipate an update to the current routing info.  A solution should be inbound shortly.  And a couple things to share…

First, just to revisit the admission at Cabrillo National Monument, it’s fifteen dollars per motorcycle if paying at the gate. If you have an America the Beautiful pass, it covers two motorcycles per pass, so with nine or ten bikes in the group, four to five passes between us should just about cover everyone. If you’ve got a pass, feel free to mention it on here, but we can also sort it out the morning of the ride since we’re not hitting the park until late afternoon.

Second, Adam and I have been testing Sena’s new Wave Intercom app, which may not be fully ready for prime time but might be worth try on this ride. Unlike traditional mesh systems, Cardo and Sena’s own Bluetooth setups, Wave runs on cellular data instead of proximity, so it could bridge everyone together no matter what gear you’re running. If you’re interested, download the app ahead of time, and maybe anyone who’s interested can hop online as a group Wednesday or Thursday evening to give it a test run before the ride.

Finally, we are hosting a dinner Saturday and will have grilled meat, pasta, salad, and dessert with hosted beers as well.  We are asking for $20 per person to cover expenses and you can venmo me at ETfireman or square up when we get together.  Thanks!

Lisa and I were hoping to make it but we can’t due to our current foster kitten situation. Have fun guys.

Thanks for all your efforts and detailed planning!  We just finished the Southcoast ADV Riders Lost Coast BDRx, a 9-day off-road adventure. Epic! Looks like I might have a continued hall pass to enjoy the upcoming Mt Laguna / San Diego ride. Hotel room-sharing and tent-camping worked well for us on the Lost Coast trip. Is anyone who already booked hotels interested in sharing a room? Separately, I have a lifetime park pass, I’d like to test Sena Wave, and I will meet up at Pavilions in Newport.  Thx. /carl
