By popular demand we are heading back to the Central Coast September 18-20 as the coastal fog normally thins out and the weather is perfect for a picturesque ride along the coast and through wine country.
We will have two meet-up locations as we are heading north on a different route than in the past.
- Meet-up #1: Panera Bread, La Canada – Hwy 2 and the 210 – KSU: 8:15am
- Meet-up #2 Starbucks, Moorpark–Hwy 118 & Spring St–NE Corner by McDonald’s – KSU: 9:00am
We are going to head up to Ojai and then over Hwy 33 and up through Maricopa, Taft and McKitrick to Hwy 58 “The Roller Coaster”. We will head west until we hit the coast at Morro Bay. That night we will have a group dinner at one of the many great restaurants (TBD) overlooking Morro Bay and Morro Rock.
We are staying in Morro Bay at the Morro Crest Inn. Please call the hotel & reserve your room from our block – SCBMWRC – there are currently 10 rooms available.
- 805-772-7740
- Queen Rooms $155.00 per night
- 2 Double Bed Rooms $165.00 per night
We have 2 routes planned for Saturday morning:
- Twisty, tight mountain road for the GS people
- Sweeper curves for the big bikes or those that just like to cruise
Both groups will meet-up for gas in San Miguel and head up Vineyard Canyon Rd to Parkfield for lunch at the Parkfield Café.
After lunch we will head for wine county and down through the rolling hills and diverse scenery of Hwy 41 eventually reaching Atascadero and ending up back in Morro Bay.
Dinner Saturday night is on your own to enjoy one of the many great restaurants within walking distance of the hotel.
Sunday we will head home through the beautiful rolling hills north of Lompoc ending up on the 101 heading south and home.
