Hi Ron, I am going to take a break – at least until I can step back from work and have more time. I love when I do get a chance to ride, but that is very infrequently right now.
One last revision – group caught a date problem in the calendar section. here is the final revision which will be posted to the public forum. Thx.

Hi everyone,
Pete R. is going to lead the Malibu portion tomorrow.
I had an error in the route I published – a one-way section (wrong way) in the hills. Pete put together a modified ride – please load THIS GPX for the second half to Malibu. Thanks!!

Bill – here is V3 of the GPX changing to a shaping point – is that the issue you saw?
Again – Basecamp forces a loop there – and there isn’t a loop. Just straight through on Ardmore.Thanks.

Bill – they aren’t numbered in Basecamp. Does it give a description in Myroute so I know which waypoint you’re referring to?
It might be one of the waypoints on 1407 Ardmore Ave. I am trying to force Basecamp to allow us to ride it straight along, but a bug in Basecamp is refusing to cross Pier Ave. I physically drove it last weekend and it’s fine to go through. I think I left one waypoint as an “announcing” point instead of shaping. I can upload a fix if that’s the issue? Thanks for reviewing.Sorry – updated the outbound freeways to get to the coast – here is revised GPX file to take the 57->22->405->110S (short piece to get to the coast).

Version 2 – Eric caught one correction (Henry S., not Harry H. interested in SWAG committee)

Here is a revision with a few minor corrections (time of ride planning meeting, spelling out full names of new bank signatories).

Hi Eric, I assume there isn’t a day ride planned after this meeting – because it will run a bit later than normal general meetings?? Am I correct? Thx.
Hi John – done. Please see attached revision. Thanks!

Thanks Bill & Chris. Definitely a group effort. Brandon initiated some ideas to explore change. Everyone wants to help make this the best club possible.
Thank you Ron for catching a typo – here is revised file. Thx.

Great job Harry! Lots of rich content each month.
SORRY FOR THE ADDITIONAL POST…. we just had a rider change so we don’t need to stop at the 7-eleven in Malibu anymore. We will stop at the 76 station a few miles past that just before we get onto the dogleg in the Malibu hills. So I’ve changed the route to remove that 7-eleven stop – final updated route attached (also fixed a few waypoints as shaping points). Will email this as well. Thx.

Oh for those who want to fill up fuel before leaving, there is a 24 hour Mobil station very close to Schooner or Later. The location is Mobil, 6401 CA-1, Long Beach, CA 90803
Hi everyone, looking forward to a great ride this weekend.
Steve Leo lives up in the area and has ridden the Malibu Hills extensively. He had a suggestion which I like. I have an alternative route for the ride up – very minor change. When we do the dog leg up into the Malibu hills, we’ll come down the first part on Decker, then take the lower portion on Encinal Canyon Rd. which offers more sweepers and if the marine layer is clear, should have some great views from that lower portion. So we’ll get a combination of good twisties and sweepers. Here is the route. Of course if people prefer pure twisties, can take Decker all the way down and we’ll all meet up at Leo Carillo Beach.Weather is looking great although we’ll hit some warmer spots on the ride up. Make sure you have layers.
We will need to leave on Friday at 8AM sharp from Long Beach since camping folks will need to arrive early enough to have some daylight remaining. Schooner or Later opens at 7AM for those that want something to eat before departing, but we’ll have a pre-ride briefing at 7:45.
Thanks!
