Your first post has a KSU from Clinton Keith at 9:30. I was planning on that.
The Wildomar KSU @ 9:30 is correct. The Rancho Mission Viejo KSU is 9:00. Barring complications, both groups should arrive at the lunch stop at about the same time.PeteHere’s the campground map that I embellished a little for clarity. My additions should be self-evident.
I was there in mid-September and talked to the camp host, and he suggested that site 36 was the most secluded and most spacious, so that might be the best choice for the group campfires. I didn’t know what site number John had at the time, though.
I thought I had posted this in the thread, but apparently not: I will be in the lodge rather than camping this trip. I was scheduled to have Mohs surgery today on a basal cell carsinoma on my cheek and I didn’t think changing bandages and other wound care in a campground was the best idea, so I reserved a room. But they postponed my surgery until Oct 23 this morning and I’d rather camp, however I can only get a 50% refund from the room reservation so I’m sticking with that option.
See y’all tomorrow.

Mileage Curator.Dave Menefee sent me an email stating that Vicki and he will not be able to join us on Saturday.
Room booked.
What kind of tent stakes work in carpet? š
I was going to break my norm and reserve a room, but then I asked myself “Where’s your sense of adventure, Pete?” Eric’s “What could go wrong?” sealed the deal.
Count me in for camping.
About the after-meeting ride:
While we would really prefer you join us for the General Meeting at Irv Seavers at 9:00 am, we will be briefly stopping at the Starbucks in the shopping center at the corner of Antonio Pkwy and Ortega Hwy at 11-11:30 and the parking lot at the corner of Ortega Hwy and Grand Ave in Lake Elsinore at 12-12:30 if you would like to join the ride at one of those places. These stops are in the GPX file posted earlier in this thread by Ed.
Also, the GPX file includes an after-lunch ride home via some obscure back roads to Oceanside and I-5 up the coast. While I will be going home that way and any of you are welcome to join me, it’s entirely optional. The group ride officially ends at the Firehouse Que and Brew and you can head home from there via any route of your choice.
Our last club ride to Firehouse Que & Brew.

While I can’t absolutely rule it out, it’s extremely unlikely that there will be any water-crossings on DeLuz Road like there were in April.
There’s a 100% chance of Peach Cobbler at the Firehouse, though, and I’m going to call and request ice cream so we can have it Ć la mode.

The Solvang Motorcycle Museum was part of the ride home during the Santa Maria Airfest Ride. Ric and I were the only ones who stopped there. The photo shows what the other two missed.
Great place! I’ll gladly go again if I go on the ride.
Another great stop nearby is Ellen’s Danish Pancake House in Buelton. Perfect for Breakfast or Lunch (open from 6A-2P). I can’t remember a breakfast that I enjoyed more.

The weather should be just right: Clear at night and sunny by day, temperatures from 51 to 80Ā°F, wind 3-8 mph avg, no rain predicted. That’s the Kernville Saturday forecast. Friday is a couple degrees cooler and Sunday is a couple degrees warmer. Of course we can expect Sherman Pass to be significantly cooler.
I’ve been suffering from a raging head cold since Friday evening, but I feel significantly better this evening than I did this morning and I can breathe through my nose again so I think I should be over it by Friday. Home-tested 3 times for COVID with fresh BinaxNOW kits and the results were all negative.
May 31, 2023 at 9:23 pm in reply to: June General Meeting: Mt Baldy Lodge Restaurant, June 3rd #19771Just for grins, here is a small sampling of the photos I took on Glendora Mountain and Ridge Roads in June 2019.

May 31, 2023 at 8:42 pm in reply to: June General Meeting: Mt Baldy Lodge Restaurant, June 3rd #19769Hiya Riders!
Here’s the GPX file for the ride this coming Saturday from Irv Seaver BMW to Mount Baldy lodge. The ride summary is up the 57 Freeway to Glendora where we will wind our way up the Glendora Mountain Road to the Glendora Ridge Road to Mount Baldy Road to the Mount Baldy Lodge. The Glendora Mountain Road offers some fairly technical low-speed twisties where you can hone your cornering skills, and the entire route through the hills should be in bloom and quite colorful.
As Eric already mentioned, KSU will be at 9:00 sharp which means our pre-ride briefing will be at 8:45 am. See you there!

Well, it took a 650+ mile detour, but Iāll be arriving at the 49er Rally riding in comfort. The other guy in the photo is Jay who is their senior builder and the one who built my seat.

I have arrived, not at the Fairgrounds but at a āvia pointā on the way. The magic doesnāt happen until tomorrow, though, and Iāll be heading to Mariposa on Thursday morning with a new seat caressing my ass. 😁

Thatās both interesting and encouraging because Garmin stated some time ago that it was no longer supporting BaseCamp.
Rode my RT about 60 miles today. First time I’ve been out on it since April 11th when I broke 3 ribs in a work accident. I’m glad to report that the ride was almost pain-free and what little ache I did experience wasn’t the result of or aggrivated by riding.
So I’ll see y’all on the 6th!
I hope you guys have a wonderful time. The weather looks like it will be about as good as it gets for both riding and camping and Iām really bummed that I canāt be riding with you.
Iām doing a lot better than I was the first few days after my accident, but I have to be extra careful about how I move. Thatās the bad part about broken ribs: You canāt immobilize them and one wrong move can undo days of healing. Unfortunately, so can something as simple as a coughing or sneezing fit. 🥵
Anyway, I may not be with you in person, but I am in both heart and spirit. Ride safe and post lots of photos.
