No camping for us, but I’ll be looking to create a Sat route that’s interesting (no dirt!) 😬
Count me and Lorna in.
Karl – Okay, I’ll take this on unless someone else wants to.
I’ll be hoteling it for this ride.
Karl – I’d consider leading, but I’m not familiar with the roads there at all.
But my GPS can follow a route if anyone has one from previous rides, or if someone familiar with the area wants to map out a route for me. 🤔Interest confirmed. Do you have an address for the campground? I’ve like to search for nearby hotels.
So it looks like Friday might be a good day of riding with no rain. So here is a long route I created in BaseCamp that’s based on Brandon’s original route, but no dirt. This is a 377 mile route that will take about 7 hours and 42 minutes – not including stops, and with a 7am KSU it brings us to the Mariposa Fairgrounds around 2:40pm (again with no stops). This may be too long of a route, but thought I’d post it just in case.

Hi Karl – We could be interested, but it’ll be dependent on weather conditions for us.
I’ve created 2 alternate lower elevation routes in BaseCamp, that I based on Brandon’s routes:
– 341 miles, about 6.5 hours.
– 370 miles, about 8 hours (more twisty stuff). We can decide at Panera Bread which to take based on weather conditions.
I have a bit shorter route that I modified from Brandon’s route, but no dirt – I’ll post that this evening.
Glad to see you’re going Julito, I don’t think your GS is afraid of a little dirt. 😉
KSU @ 7am. 😂
Everyone do their own rain dance and maybe it’ll clear up by then.
The extended weather forecast for next weekend’s 49er Rally does not look good. 😟

Unfortunately, Lorna and I will not be able to attend this event. 😟
Hope everyone had a fun and safe time!
Sounds good to me, could always use an extra 1/2 hour of sleep. 😬
I’m open to whatever time is deemed best for all.
Not if I see you first! 😜
I’m in, and have already reserved Fri and Sat nights at the Best Western in Merced.
Jessie is also staying at the same motel. The weather in Morro Bay made for a great Sat ride! And I’d like to thank Steve Leo for leading Sat’s ride – it was a great one!
There were no incidents that I’m aware of, and I hope everyone made it home safely.
I suppose a ride report is in order, along with pictures. I already have some pics, but if anyone has some they’d like to add please send them to me at:
[email protected]Thanks for an enjoyable weekend everyone!
Okay, I could only upload 4 files at a time. Here are the remaining 2 route PDF files.

All righty then…. Here’s what everyone’s been waiting for! Attached are the GPS routes for this Fri, Sat and Sun – along with printable PDF files of each day’s route directions.
If we have one group for Sat’s ride, Steve Leo has volunteered to lead that ride as the route mostly comes from him. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks! 🙂
