Eric I have the Sena Spider used with Shoei Neotec 2 Helmet. I have upgraded the helmet speakers with the SENA upgrade. About $50.
I have it blue toothed to the Garmin NAV VI GPS for GPS. I have loaded all my music to the Garmin and it plays through the Sena and the music and sounds really well. The Garmin routing instructions also come through loud and clear.
I have not been able to get the Sena to connect to the bike TFT, iPhone and Garmin all concurrently. I have tried several procedures but just have not been able get it to work. There seems to be issues with the BMW TFT communication and the pairing all four items.
I have the iPhone paired with the Garmin. the Garmin interfaces with the iPhone and calls can be made and received and are displayed on the GPS. However, the sound of the calls do not come through to the Sena. I have not figured out how to make this work and really have just lost patience trying all the You Tube and Forum procedures.
Working with the unit on the Helmet and using the wheel and pushing the small buttons is just tedious. I rarely have a need to make a phone call while riding so it has not been a real deterrent for me. I have never tried the MESH communications with other Sena users. Riders tell me it works great, but I have not tried it. Again the small buttons with gloves on probably just takes more ‘training” than I have been will to do.
I understand the the pairing interface issues do not exist with Android phones.
I will be unable to attend this event.
Ed, I will not be joining the ride. I have cancelled my reservation at the Pioneer. I think it will just be to cold, to windy and most likely wet for it to be an enjoyable ride for my son and I.
Yep we are just wimps!
Looks like some rain all three days. does not appear to be very heavy, but I have not been able to get any “hourly” visibility for each day.
May 23, 2022 at 11:44 am in reply to: Seven Passes Ride June 9-12 Tioga Pass reservation/park entry #15683Is there a meetup point for the ride to Kernville?
I followed Steve Leo’s suggestion and booked the hotel rooms he suggested with the exception of the Gunn House. I booked at the Heritage Inn next door. Just had a poor experience the last time I stayed at the Gunn House.
I also booked the Creekside Inn in Bishop for Sunday night as I did not want to do the 10 -11 hours from Tahoe to Mission Viejo.
Bill Allen introduced me to this ride several years ago. I think I have ridden it about 4 times now. His observation about the Sherman pass rode was also my experience. (Slow and Easy) would be my recommendation. I believe the Ebbets Pass (Hwy 4) has been repaved a few years ago, but it is still a narrow road.
One of the options to Kernville is the Caliente Bodfish Road off of Hwy 58. It is definitely a “back country” road and requires care and attention. It is an alternative to riding into Bakersfield taking Hwy 155 from Bakersfield.
In Mojave there is a restaurant (Voyager) that is right on or nearly on the flight line. it is an interesting lunch stop.
Just some observations.I plan to participate.
I have a room booked also.
I have a 2 bed room at the Creekside Inn if anyone is interested in sharing. Just send an email.
Chris I’m interested, but will need some guidance as I own no camping gear. Would appreciate some “consulting” as to the items to the make, model, etc. of tent, bed, sleeping bag, etc. And any other items.
Give me an call or an email when you have time.
I usually just stay in hotels, but at this late date there do not appear to be any $$ rooms within about 50 miles of the rally site.glad to share a room with you Eric if you are still looking for a room mate.
What time at Flo’s?
Thanks for the room Chuck. I am all set. Is there any meet up point for south county riders on Friday?
Chuck if your reservation is still available I would like to take it. Let me know how you want proceed. Thanks. Dan Burtt. 714-448-2156, [email protected].
If you have any tickets remaining I would like 2 tickets.
Is there going to be a meetup time and place for the ride to the event?
John, If you have any tickets reaming, I would like two tickets.
Mark Borgeson – Would like to join you. thanks for the offer.
Dan Burtt – I would like to attend the ride. Any body that would like to have roommate to share hotel costs? let me know.
Sounds fine to me.
Historically a group of riders from south county that met up at a Harbor Cafe resturant in Seal Beach on PCH at 5:00am (4:30 if you wanted breakfast) and then rode to Frazer Park to meet other riders at 7:00am.
Can this be added to the ride description?Yes Rick each rider has to make their own reservations for the 3 nights.
