Wow Bill, I had that on the calendar for next weekend, bummer. You guys must have been at the other end of the campground, our sites are near the entrance.
Glad to hear you liked the venue. It sure looks like will work out good. And Roady gets a shower! ๐
Sharon and I spontaneously took a Fathers Day run up to Big Bear for lunch to check out the campsites for the September Campout Ride. Found our double site is really good for a group of about 8 tents and the adjacent single site can easily hold 4 more, so we came home and reserved it. Hope everyone is ready for some fall camping and riding trails and roads!
.
We also checked out one of the two dining spots on Fawnskin and give it a thumbs up!
.
Reserveations will be taken starting at the July BOD meeting and Club Picnic.Attachments:
You got it Ron, thanks!
We can talk ride routes and meal plans at the July planning meeting. Look for a hotel you and others might like and see if you can get a group deal and hold some number of rooms.
Thanks!
Ron, we can get routes. I need a co-leader for the event to arrange teh non-camper details;
– arrange hotel options for the non-campers
– check out meal options
– ride leader to the event Friday, Saturday day ride, and Sunday homeThink about it, let me know.
Search Serrano Campground and it comes up, add Big Bear lake if needed, but I found it that way.
Good to hear Ron, think about leading the road group.
Oh, going to be a nice trip, not for me on this one however, wish I could.
Have great trips, enjoy Beartooth Highway Mark, it is really amazing.
Chris and group, enjoy the trip and rally, look forward to hearing a debrief at the picnic!
How much are you doing Mark B? Are you starting with them on Thursday in So Cal?

Well, I looked and he is shown on the ride list as attending the ride now. He must have got it to work out. Great!
If anyone who is going is interested, we are planning the following excursions Sat and Sun in any order:
.
1) Ride to Hetch Hetchy, nice ride in and back. A reasonable hike around the lake to a falls and back. A bit more than riding boots needed if interested.
.
2) Ride up and around to the East of Bass lake on the Byway Route, Minaretes Rd. Some good views and hike. The GS’s can complete the loop, the last portion is a dirt road. The rest of us need to up and back and take a shorter route on pavement. Can include some hiking also. Will do Brandon.
.
Sharon has dialed up a bit more detailed forecast. Looks like it will rain, but lighter showeres with a few thunder strorms rolling through, but not buckets of rain.

Bring your rain gear, going to have some weather this weekend. ๐
Ok, that will work Eric,
.
But there is not a convenient place to stop and hang out in Santa Monica where the 10 fwy hits the coast. Let’s meet at the Starbucks in Malibu, near the Malibu Lagoon:
.
Starbucks – Malibu
3900 Cross Creek Rd, Malibu, CA 90265
.
We should be there about 9:15 to 9:45am depending on traffic.
.
Will that work for you?
.
We have cell numbers, update as we go.Hey Eric,
.
We are leaving the South Bay around 8:30am and are interested in going up the coast Friday and back Hwy 58 Sunday due to traffic and a bit better weather inland Sunday.
.
Would like to meet somewhere between the South Bay and Ojai in route to 33 and up to 166. How about meeting at “Home Kitchen of Ojai” in Ojai. It is right as you start into town,
.
Home Kitchen of Ojai
1103 Maricopa Hwy, Ojai, CA 93023.
.
We would target to meet you there 10:30 to 11:00am.
.
Let us know if that works, if you have another option, let us know.
.
Karl7am may be more tenable, the route does have 10 hours of riding time, will see. The later half is road I like best, so we might head straight to Visalia on the 5 and short it slightly. Will update later this week.
