Bill is out. He spent his vacation time in El Paso holding his sister’s hand while she had back surgery. I am planning to make the Airhead’s campout in Kings Canyon the following weekend.
Have a great time!
Post selfies on FB!
Larry Troffer – Did you tell Trish I will be serving Margaritas?
Karl – Thanks for the accommodation.
Ron – Everyone is automatically enrolled in Friday night’s Margarita Madness!
πKarl – Is it possible to opt out of the meals? Not only can I not east most of the items on the menu, but I’m planning on tequila based cuisine.
πGreat job! Easter egg too easy.
πI will meet everyone at the campsite.
Rick – You da man!
Karl Wagner – Please do.
We will bring desert.
Is this event suitable for Cadallac Margaritas?
Asking for a friend.
πSeriously thinking about doing this event. I’ve done it a few times and enjoyed every time. After our move in May, I went camping with the Airheads in Big Bear. Ida asked me how long I was going to be gone. I said “One night”. She said “Really? After the move, you should go for a week!”

Can’t really pass on opportunites like that, right?
What I’m think of doing is leaving mid-day Thursday stopping around Bakersfield and rolling into Grass Valley on Friday. After the event, I would like to head over to the coast and ride north to south from Mendocino to Morro Bay. Maybe some side trips in between.
On Thursday, I would then head over to Kings Canyon and join the Airheads for their annual campout in the Sequoias coming home on Sunday.
Nothing over 400 miles in a day is my goal. Camping every night, except maybe Bakersfield.
I’ll keep everyone posted on my plans.
Excellent!
Quail Cove Lakeside Lodge
Just spent this past weekend at Serano Campground with the Airheads. Great site! Good showers and bathrooms. Plenty of shade. I believe there is a motel within a couple of miles of the campsite.
Hey, Karl Wagner, the last time I gave away my coupons (2 years ago), Rick Catarineau didn’t use them. What a waste! But what you will miss by my absence is noted.
πMoving 3 miles up the road to a land locked town called Laguna Niguel. I hope the AC works well.
Empty boxes need to be filled. Need to put a rear tire and battery on the Oilhead. I need to put a transmission in the Airhead. Oh yeah, I also have a ton of billable work to get out. Maybe I need to pull a “Dave Eastly” to deal with the stress.
=8^ODoesn’t look like I will be making the 49’er. Movers show up on Thursday.
Sigh…
Have fun all!
I’m still planning to go. I’ve got to put a rear tire and battery on the Oilhead. Got the tire. Got the battery, which is a PITA to change. I have to remove the fuel tank and oil coolers! What a dumb design. I’m not leaving at o dark thirty, so don’t wait for me at Panera.
As of right now, I’m 50/50. May is going to be a busy month for me. For those going up 395, they may have to go to Hwy 50 to cross the Sierras. I don’t recall Tioga or Sonora ever opening before Memorial weekend due to the snow pack. Sure, I’m certain it’s happened sometime in history. I prefer to camp “downtown” rather than in the “suburbs” at rallies like this. Closer to the bathrooms. LOL
David Eastly – You would get more value buying me lunch!
πRob –
I guess that means I have to show up!
