I’ve attached a Day ride that Howard, Henry, John and I did during the BMW Getaway to Los Osos (Sea Pines) on 5/14. It was about 250 miles over about 6.5 hours including a long lunch stop at the Parkfield Inn. There’s some G1 and G2 class Butler roads all along this route. You can take a short dirt section up the Parkfield Grade after lunch, or take paved road(Vineyard Canyon Road) bag to intersect Indian Valley Road as you go about this route Counter-Clockwise. Hope it helps!

Hello there! I can’t stay overnight, but I wanted a nice day ride with this great group of folks – so I’ll go all the way to Buellton and continue on through Solvang and back along the coast for the day. Leaving Torrance about 7:15-7:30 for the La Cañada meet up and breakfast at Panera. A great 400 miles towards my Running-in check which is already scheduled for Tuesday…Ha!

Tony – Routes look awesome. Thanks for the hard work in putting this together! Got them in basecamp already.
I’ll be meeting the group at Agoura Chevron. Since I’m coming from Torrance, I’m leaving just before 8am, taking 405, to 10W and up the coast. North up Malibu Canyon to the Chevron. I’ll adjust for traffic on the morning of…I should be there about 9am. Seems like that’s about ETA for the group route if they depart Spaghettini at 8am (on the dot).

Looks to be a bit chilly up North. Tony – hope you’re bringing a heated liner and NOT just your mesh jacket.

            Cheers,
            Julito

I’m booked at the Best Western really close to the Bay View inn (4 minute walk). See you all on the ride!

Willis – Please take my Camping spot for this weekend. I had some events that had to shift this past weekend, into the same timeframe – so I won’t be able to stay overnight :-(. I am still wanting to ride south with the group to Julian – but I need to head back to LA after that. Hope this helps. Sorry if it adds complexity to the management of the event.

Hoping that the San Diego Valley Fire has no impact in 2 weeks – but definitely something to monitor. Today’s evacuation map is starting to show the southern intersection of Sunrise Hwy and I-8, where Pine Valley is in an Evacuation Warning area. It’s still 12 days away. Don’t know how ash and smoke may influence the camp grounds as well. Hopefully their site will keep up to date as well.

Warren, I’m in for camping on this ride. Let us know if we need to Venmo or pay forward to anyone who put a deposit on. Thanks!

Good Day All – So I also realized the group ride is Friday morning…alas, I’ll be sipping warm coffee in a dry, heated house @Mariposa by the time you depart La Canada. I’ll catch you all at the Rally then, Friday evening or Saturday Morning. Have a good ride up.

I’m in as well. Got an AirBnB house just north of Mariposa Downtown. Be there on Thursday afternoon. Probably hitting Savoury’s for dinner in town (Mariposa) that night – in case anyone is up for it. I’ll check out the latest route posted from 5/19 – Thanks Brandon. Had ideas of Seqouia National Park, possibly Toll House Road and Auberry…East of Oakhurst by Bass Lake…that said – they’re getting SNOW! Part of Sequoia National (road through) may be closed, etc. My third year going – this may be the wettest – but it should be a great adventure! I’ll confirm with you all if me and my buddy will meet on this group ride – just so there’s no doubt.

                          Ron – Looking at weather.com:
Date / City / Morning Low Temp / City / Mid-Afternoon High Temp
                          20-Nov / Los Angeles / 63F / Bishop / 67F Mostly Sunny
                          21-Nov / Bishop / 29F / Bishop / 68F Sunny
                          22-Nov / Bishop / 35F / Los Angeles/ 91F Sunny

If we don’t get on the road until about 0900 on Saturday Morning and Sunday Morning, it should be warm up to the mid-50s by then.

Hey Folks! Just became a member here – been a member via FB and a BMW MOA member. Looking forward to the ride this weekend. Cheers! Thanks for putting the ride together, Brandon. Best Regards, Julito

P.S. Max, Tony, Ron and I were riding in Julian this weekend. We heard word about a revised Day 1 route, but didn’t see a new GPX file posted in the forum. Can you please confirm if routes are the same or post the changes? Thanks!
