This is less than two weeks away. I’m thrilled to have 4 South Coasters on this trip, so far. I can’t think of a better way to discover our awesome southern neighbor.
Don’t forget this trip will include Dia de Los Muertos (Nov 2nd).
Great riding, food, friends, and experiences are all yours. All you need to do is take a Friday off to ride. How hard is that?

Hi Ed, I think I will make this easy for you and others in your predicament. I’ve created a “A Taste of Mexico – Ensenada Double Occupancy” SKU with at $300 so you can register with confidence and not have to worry about gathering someone else.

I’m a South Coaster and Tom White is also going, so you won’t be alone. I’m sure with this new and improved/easier setup more South Coasters will register, too.

Who knows, you may get lucky and be the odd number that gets their own room for a double price. The rooms are in the photo.

            That’s awesome. Welcome.

Just go here to the Authentic Moto Website and register. If you have someone else in mind to share the room with, please let me know. The price listed is for single occupancy.
It’ll be great to have you on this trip.

                            Answer….
You’re not in New York anymore, Michael. You certainly need a vehicle in your life. Probably more than one.
Toaster tank airheads are rather rare. If you want one, check Craigslist in major metro areas and be prepared to fly in and either ride or arrange for transport back.
Keep in mind that the newest or latest airhead is going to be at least 24 years old. You will most certainly need to be spending some money on it once you acquire it.
Once the fantasy of living in LA LA Land wears off, you will probably want to ship your bikes over from New York or buy a modern bike here. ABS, and Traction Control can and will keep you upright and riding despite your best efforts to do the opposite.
You may also wish to consider a 4-wheeler (car/truck) as you’ll find that in inclimate weather, Californians are amongst the worst in the nation. Even Motor Cops strongly urge you not to ride during rain.
You asked for advice so this is a summary of my advice. Life on the left coast is vastly different from life in NYC. If you try to bully NYC living in SoCal, you will end up frustrated, broke, and ready to leap off a tall building. Relax, enjoy the nice weather, and try to learn a different way of thinking.

Tom White has difficulty with this website, so he asked me to forward his comments:

Excellent but brief description of one day out of 19 that were all every bit as good! To all South Coasters; plan your vacation time now, so as to join next years adventure. It will be the best time you have ever had! Jim, sign me up now!
The other stories were excellent as well! This newsletter made for a most interesting read. My hat is off to David Omlor. His publication gets better each month. Well done, David!

                                        Jim again…
If you are interested in this trip next year, I’m attaching a preliminary itinerary to peruse. The destinations may change a little, but the dates are pretty solid.
