I’ll make the meeting but not a post meeting ride.
Chris – I am sure you could make it. The main road is hard pack gravel/dirt with some washboard. On this trip I want to take some of the side roads available in the area but they are all passable without 4 wheel drive. In addition to the flowers I want to explore the San Andreas Fault which you can directly observe in the Monument area, and if we go on a moonless night Carrizo is designated as one of the few “dark sky” areas in California where celestial observations are the best due to the lack of light pollution. I will message you about the plans as things get closer.
Can I get your cell# in case I need to send a text? Mine is 949-903-3905.
Never mind – got it off the ride list.
Brandon – I may turnoff after we get on 166 and take Soda Lake Rd. through the Carrizo Plain. That would route me through Paso Robles. I probably won’t decide until we get to that point. It may not take me much longer than the planned route but part of the road is gravel. I plan on making the meetup tomorrow morning.
Plan on pleasant weather during the day but COLD nights! In the 30’s.
So I just called the restaurant and they said they don’t open until 11am!
Yelp site says 8am on Sunday but the restaurants website says 9am.
Hey everyone! I was planning on arriving at La Unica before 9am tomorrow but just looked at there website and they do not open until 9am.
Hopefully no one needs reminding but its daylight savings Sunday morning. If you don’t set your clocks back you will be showing up an hour early.
Thanks for posting the minutes. I don’t think I have seen them before. Lifts a bit of the veil of mystery! Thank you to all board members.
You need to register to participate but here are the ride details.

Anyone interested in meeting up mid-Friday morning to go over Ortega Highway, then down the 15 to the 76, and have lunch at Jilberto’s in Pauma Valley before continuing on to Anza Borrego? Several people have suggested Jilberto’s for lunch and I want to finally stop there this time on the way out.
Larry – Any plans for posting spots to meet for the ride out there?
Is it too late to join the ride? My Sunday has freed up.
October 25, 2017 at 9:55 pm in reply to: Pinnacles National Park, 3 day / 2 night camping trip #6855Roberto – I may be interested in joining you. My son invited me to do something with him Saturday night so if I go I will want to come back on Saturday. I would rather not just go up on Friday and turnaround the next day to come home. Let me see if a Thursday departure would work.
October 22, 2017 at 5:02 pm in reply to: Pinnacles National Park, 3 day / 2 night camping trip #6782I was just looking at the park website and noticed that there was an “alert”. It says that due to the fire danger all wood and charcoal fires are prohibited throughout the park. Only propane stoves are allowed. Hopefully there will be enough rain before we go, but if not any fires or grilling will be off the list.
Ok, I am good to go. Meet you at 9:30am at the Redhill/5 Starbucks? My cell is 949-903-3905.
David – I’ll let you know tomorrow. If I go I would meet you somewhere along the 5 as I will coming from Newport Beach.
I am planning on going.
