Hey Karl, where is the route posted ?? I can’t find it here or on the Calendar.
Karen & Bill are in for this ride, got our room reserved. Gotta see what the rest of Breckenridge Road looks like cause we were soooo close last year !!
Karen & Bill are ready, all nights reserved.
We got a room in Bakersfield Thursday night so we wouldn’t have to make it to Zingo’so early Friday.
In Oakhurst the Comfort Inn Yosemite still has rooms. It’s across the street from the Best Western Yosemite we stayed in last year.
For anyone interested, since this ride starts at 0800 in Bakersfield the Reitz’s, Wetzel’s, & Mr. Pirosh got rooms for Thursday night at the Best Western Hill House at 700 Thruxton in Bakersfield. This means you don’t have to get up SUPER early to make the start time. Let me know if you might do this and we can ride up together Thursday around noon.
Good job on the planning Mark. If you call Holy Smoke the owner, I forget her name, will reserve seating for the group. She just needs a time of arrival and group size. She treated us very well two years ago and three years ago too. We sat outside once and inside once.
I was checking on lodging in Fish Camp, most places are B&B’s but nothing is available for Sept. 16th. I might suggest Oakhurst since there are so many more motels in the town and it’s only about 14 miles away. A bunch of us stayed at the Best Western Plus Yosemite Gateway Inn last year on our Sierra’s Ride.
Just a heads up, this is from the Bodie website: From U.S. 395 seven miles south of Bridgeport, take State Route 270. Go east 10 miles to the end of the pavement and continue 3 miles on an unsurfaced road to Bodie. The last 3 miles can at times be rough. Reduced speeds are necessary. Call the park if there are any questions about road conditions.
Not trying to scare anyone away just keep this in mind.Prices
Adults: $8 per person
Only cash or checks are accepted at the Park Entrance Station.Where is the Bakersfield starting point ? Will need to spend a night there probably.
OK, I’m in, just got the call. There were two cancellations so I’ll see you all there.
Sounds good to me Karl. We may have to stop at Chino Dickey’s for dinner !!
Thanks for the input David. We always use the 118 so I thought the 101 would be a change. OK, the 118 it is. I will post a new route.
Attached is the revised route to breakfast.

Karen & Bill (mostly Karen) will bring COOKIES !!!
Got home at 2pm, what an epic South Coasters weekend ! Many thanks to Beth, John, Sharon, & Karl for their hard work, it showed and payed off. Also thanks to everyone that put together the fascinating Saturday rides !!!!
What’s next ??
Karen & I send prayers for Trish. If you need anything….
June 25 & 26 is Julian Gold Rush Days so it might be “a little crowded” in the mountains. Here is a website with more info: http://visitjulian.com/to-see-do/special-events/gold-rush-days/
Well folks I was gonna put on a little 90 mile ride on some great roads to the south of Laguna Mountain BUT Hwy 94 is closed near Hwy 188 due to the Border Fire soooo we are heading north on some familiar, but fun, roads.
Attached is the Saturday GPS route, just over 100 miles, to build an appetite for dinner that night.

Ahhh Starbucks, I should have known their would be one close after all this is a South Coasters gathering. 😄
Are we meeting at the Chevron or Oso & Antonio ?? I’m sooo confused.
Hey David, if you don’t mind a slow couple tagging along Karen and I would like to join you. 10 am start sounds good.
One question, you say Oso & Antonio but I don’t see them crossing. Did you mean Crown Valley & Antonio maybe at the Arco station ??I don’t mind others contacting me.
Rick I forwarded your email question to Dan Burtt because I don’t know if he is following this forum topic. When he answers you might post it here so everyone knows.
Hey Rick you missed a Board member. Don Cervantes is a new member who is on board.
Hey people, Dan Burtt did a pre-ride and realized the total mileage was too much for three days so this is now a 5 Passes Ride. New PDF & GPX files have been added to the first post. First day is about 425 miles and second day 370.
I added the day 3 GPX files to this post that I could not add on the first post due to size restrictions.
I added the dinner for the Sonora night in the first post but here it is again “just in case.”
Sonora dinner for the group:
Mi Pueblo Restaurant & Bar, 126 Washington St. 209-532-3640.
Will set up table in back room for us. Set reservation for 6:30pm.
SCMA – Dan Burtt
Estimated group of 12 -
