The address is 26495 Ynez Rd, Temecula
Unfortunately Karen & I will not be going this year, DAMN !! Hope you all have a great time. On the Saturday ride to the BIG trees remember Bear Creek Rd is two way without a centerline for much of the way. There are a few places to pull over and wonder at the size of these Giant Sequoia’s. Look for the camp ground near a pond / lake and you can relax and walk around, even climb on a downed giant.
Yes Erasmo, El Cap is getting a break so new roads can be found to ride.
Hiya Steve. You’ve come to the right Club for BMW riders.
Erasmo your newsletters get better each month !! Putting Karen & I on the front & back make them even more valuable to collectors.
The meeting would have to be 9am or later, the BOSS needs her sleep. Wynola Pizza AND Julian pie with ice cream sounds good, although Bates Nut Farm fits right in with this group.
Hey John, did you forget to add October 1 to the post ?? we don’t want to confuse anyone any more.
Saturdays 8am start is early but the reward is spending more time in Yosemite so its worth it.
Mark I think you’ve done a fantastic job of preparation, thank you. The only thing left to figure is a starting time for Saturday & Sunday morns. Since the hotels have breakfast of some sort I doubt anyone will want to go to a restaurant. I would pick a place, maybe a gas station, and say we leave from here at whatever time.
Oh, what time are the dinners in Oakhurst & Bishop ??
If anyone else in Orange County adjacent (that would be LA County) wants to meet the group at the McDonalds in Moorpark the address is 501 New Los Angeles Ave, Moorpark, CA 93021. This is a regular stop when we are in this area. There is a Starbucks in the same parking lot, just east of McD’s, but not visible from the McDonalds.
Hey Karl we can pick you guys up at the Starbucks on Rosecrans. When I did the GPS route it said roughly two hours so that would put us at Santa Paula at 0930. I made reservations at 10am, we have the side room, so no one would have to get up a 0 dark thirty to make the meeting.
My route takes us up 405 to 118 over Balcom Canyon to Mountain Ave to the airport. For an ice cream / rest stop I might recommend the Whoa Nelli Deli on Hwy 120 just before 395 in Lee Vining. I believe you have a stop here already but just in case you don’t. When you go around the June Lake Loop a stop at Silver Lake might be nice. There is a large parking lot next to the lake, it’s on the left and is the second of the chain of lakes you come to.
Attached are some pix from the October 2014 Fall Color Ride stop at Silver Lake.
Sorry for the double post of the trees but I don’t see where to delete an extra image.
Alright Roberto. Larry & Bikram we look forward to meeting you at Spaghettini Grill if you can make it. We will LEAVE at noon and travel up the 605 to pick up Diane & Bob near their home.
This is gonna be another epic South Coasters ride !!
Welcome Roberto to the South Coasters. If you can make it three bikes are riding up to Bakersfield on Thursday leaving at noon from Spaghettini Grill just off the 405 at Seal Beach Blvd on the north west corner. We are staying at the Best Western Hill House.
Anyone else that has the time off is welcome to join us too.
It might still be HOT on this ride so check Cycle Gear, they have “Cool Vests” for only $35.00 right now.
August 24, 2016 at 9:12 pm in reply to: 2016 Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation Ride, 10/29/16 – Torrance, CA #3633Karl, maybe you’re not signed in and that’s why you don’t see the top line/BOD section. I need to sign back in every so often.
Come on Karl, what could be more romantic than an intimate weekend in Kernville and dinner at a small Italian restaurant with friends ???
Hey Dale, did you ride to the Sherman Pass Overlook ?? Really pretty up there.
Camarillo Airport at 7:30 AM !!! That means leaving home at 0600. That means getting up at 0430. My God, I’ll be the ONLY one on the freeway.
Actually John he meant the BMWCOSC out of Browns BMW. They are also members of the SCMA.
Hooper and Karen and I participated about 4 years ago when it was only about ten or fifteen bucks to ride. It was a fun, point gathering event that travelled all over SoCal.
