Hey Rick, where on Angeles Crest did you get your pass ? Some day I’ll be old enough to qualify, but it’s a loooong way off.
The picture posted by the chair showed the South Coasters as 5th place.
You’re still an Iron Butt Rider huh Bikram ?? Glad you made it home safe and look forward to hearing stories of all the goodies you just HAD to have !!
Hey Ron that was a great video, and I’m not saying that just cause I was the star. 😎
Well maybe just a little. Funny how you didn’t get the ranger rolling up with red lights flashing and siren blaring.
Oh no, it’s not about me I meant you have a nice pic of Karen, Diane, & Bob. It’s NEVER about me…….
David let me be the first to congratulate you on your first issue !! Your choice of cover picture has set a new standard for others to follow. BRAVO !!!!
Karen and I are coming and will bring a fruit plate unless something else is needed.
Well Karen & I won’t be going on this ride, our Ohio son is in town for a short while and we HAVE to have lunch with him Saturday.
I got this reply from Talus Stalwart after posting about Bill Mayer Saddles on the Facebook page:
Talus Stalwart – I just spoke with the curator of Bill Mayer Saddles and have some positive news. This step is part of a semi-retirement. If we are lucky the BMS crew and their magic may visit a few rallies from time to time. I suspect, like any artist he enjoys sharing his life’s work and passion within his extended family – the moto community. We will just have to work a little harder to connect and not pass on an opportunity presented by a chance meeting.
Karen & I had a great time. Nice roads and a beautiful lunch setting. Jan’s cake was good too. 😉 Thanks to all that put this together.
OK Karl, you asked for it. 1) On the way to Panguitch Lake take Hwy 14 and stop at Cedar Breaks Nat. Mon. if you’ve never been. A fantastic view from the top down to the west. 2) Google “The Hogsback” on Hwy 12. Have the GoPro running when riding it. It’s between Escalante & Boulder. Only about a mile long but WOW. Stop at the overlooks to view not while riding, there is no room for error.
3) Coming home stop a the Cameron Trading Post on Hwy 89. Food & gas and a souvenir store. Just after here 4) Take Hwy 64 to the South Rim Grand Cyn and stop at one or both of the overlook towers on the way to the main event. 5) Stay off I-40 and take Route 66. Arizona has the longest stretch of original road in any state, about 150 miles. 6) Stop in Seligman at the Sno-Cap Drive-in for a taste of the old road and some fun with the owners. 7) THe rest of the ride to Kingman is a fun two lane ride.Karen & I can make the ride up on Saturday, can’t stay over but she misses all you guys. See you at Spaghettini before 9.
Diane & Bob will be riding up also, not staying overnight.Mark, may I offer a route suggestion ? From Bryce head east on Hwy 12 to Torrey. This is a BEAUTIFUL section of 12, google “The Hogsback.” Use the turnouts to check the view. DON’T DRIVE & LOOK ! At Torrey go east on Hwy 24. When you reach Hanksville if it’s time to eat Blondie’s Eatery & Gifts is at the intersection of 24 & 95. The Club stopped there on the Monument Valley Ride a few years ago. THere is gas to be had in town also. After Hanksville take 24 to I-70 east to 191 south to Moab. This route will add time to the ride but 12 is a fantastic road. Just a thought…..
Brandon, look up at post 5464 where John posted the GPX & PDF route files.
No you don’t NEED to work two more days Karl, you don’t look very well and should rest so you don’t expose your co-workers.

Just a reminder for the Rally goers…. Coming home Monday (Memorial Day) on 395 there will be extra traffic around Bishop due to celebrating Mule Days from May 23rd to the 28th. Tioga Pass won’t be open till LATE June due to so much snow this year.
Caltrans website will be your friend.Tioga Pass road is still buried under lots of snow so 120 is out to cross the Sierra’s. Have a great Rally.
Thanks Erasmo for an interesting day of riding, Karen and I enjoyed it all. I slept sooo good Saturday night and way into Sunday.
Brandon, according to the TYRE GPX file the Arco is on Bundy Canyon Rd at Orange St. just west of the 15.
