Come join your friends for our General Meeting on Saturday, November 2nd.  This year eight club members, including five BOD members, are entered in the Moto Adventure Rally, headquartered at Stagecoach Trails RV Resort, located just east of Julian. We’ll hold our General Meeting and share hoagie sandwiches provided by the local deli. Please bring some cash to pitch in for the sandwiches.

Meet up with fellow club members at Irv Seaver BMW Motorcycles, grab a coffee and a breakfast sandwich at the Flat Track Cafe and hit the road at 8:00 am. It is approximately a 3 hour ride, plus breaks, to the venue so plan on arriving about 12:00 – 12:30 pm.

To help us provide enough lunch, PLEASE sign up on the event page!

Stagecoach Trails and RV Campground.   7878 Great Southern Overland Stage Route, Julian, CA 92036    Campsite 88.  ( Look for the Club Banner.)

Following lunch and the General Meeting spend some time and wander through Rally central and check out the vendors before heading home.

Ric will be at the Moto Adventure Rally preparing for our November General Meeting and lunch, so he has asked me to lead the ride there for those of us who will only be going for the 1st Saturday meeting and lunch. The ride will depart Irv Seaver BMW at 8:00am sharp on Saturday 11/02, but there will be 2 more meet-up points where you can join the ride.

After departing Irv Seaver’s we will head south on I-5 to Ortega Hwy (CA-74) and then east to the junction of Ortega and Antonio Pkwy where we will stop briefly in the Starbucks parking lot in the Sendero Marketplace in Rancho Mission Viejo where South OC members can join us. This is a normal meet-up location for us but if you aren’t familiar with it, the Marketplace is on the NE corner of Ortega Hwy and Antonio Pkwy and there is a gas station there.

From there we will head up and over Ortega Hwy to Lake Elsinore with a brief bathroom stop at the Firefighter Memorial at the summit. Our next meet-up stop will be at the Arco station at the NNW corner of Clinton Keith and Hidden Springs Rd. That intersection is only 500′ from the southbound onramp to I-15.

Our final leg will take us down I-15 to CA-79 to Pechange Pkwy-Pala Temecula Rd to CA-76 to CA-79, through Julian to CA-78 to the Great Southern Overland Stage Route to our final destination at the Stagecoach Trails Campground and RV Park. That’s a lot of tos to remember, but it’s all included in the attached GPX file. No GPS? Then just join us at Irv Seaver’s, Rancho Mission Viejo, or Wildomar and follow me.

              • The total route distance is 145 miles.
              • KSU at Irv Seaver’s will be 8:00am sharp.
              • The Starbucks meet-up time will be 8:30-8:40am.
              • The Wildomar meet-up time will be 9:45-9:50am.
              • Our target arrival time will be 12-noon.
              • Ric says the meeting starts as soon as he gets a sandwich in everyone’s hands.

IMPORTANT: Please be gassed-up and ready to ride at the times listed above. Barring traffic delays we should arrive at Stagecoach Trails by noon, but we don’t have time to wait for late riders.

Everyone please bring cash to pitch in for lunch.  Ric is making araingments for food and paying for everything up front so he can get those sandwiches into your hands as soon as you get there.  Thanks

Hey guys, I am sorry but I have to cancel.  Yesterday I rode over a big piece of wook (like a 4×4) going 70mph on the freeway and damaged my wheels.   I did not have time to avoid it but only to get out of my saddle to dampen the blow.  Luckily I stayed upright, I have no airloss and no cracks in the rims.  If anyone has a recommendation where I could get these repaired (if possible) I’d appreciate that.

Glad to hear you stayed upright and the only damage was to your wheel.

Dr. John, Highly recommended. Has repaired a few of my bent rims in the past

Dr John’s straightened the rims on my RT in June and I can’t tell they were ever bent. The fellow who does the rim work is a real master.

He did tell me that he can’t do much for most BMW spoked rims, though.

Thank you guys for the referral. Craig at Irv also referred me to Dr. John’s but on the phone they said they can’t fix it …  bummer.  I’ll have to figure something out because I don’t want to fork out $4000+ for a set of new rims …  maybe time to get a GS ;-).  Hope you all had/have a great ride/weekend.

I used Jason’s Wheel Repair in Chino but I think Pete is correct that they can’t straighten spoked wheels.  It’s worth a call though.  Jason did good work!
