I got this reply from Talus Stalwart after posting about Bill Mayer Saddles on the Facebook page:

Talus Stalwart – I just spoke with the curator of Bill Mayer Saddles and have some positive news. This step is part of a semi-retirement. If we are lucky the BMS crew and their magic may visit a few rallies from time to time. I suspect, like any artist he enjoys sharing his life’s work and passion within his extended family – the moto community. We will just have to work a little harder to connect and not pass on an opportunity presented by a chance meeting.

Good news all. Even though Rocky has retired and moved away, Adrian, who has been one of Rocky’s main guys (his words, not mine) over the past decade, has recently opened up a shop just a few miles from the original BMS location. I took a ride up to Ventura last week and had a seat made because the long rides have been getting just too darn uncomfortable. I had a 8:00 appointment and was riding out by 10:15, so it didn’t take long for everything to be done. It was a great ride there and back home while enjoying the scenery and also to really get used to the new seat. I’m just really appreciative that I could ride into a local saddle maker and get a seat made. With very few options out there already, I’m glad that we didn’t really lose a place that is literally just up the road from LA.

Adrian said that members could call him directly for appointments, here is the info:

                  Legendary BMS
                  2317 Palma Drive
                  Suite #9
                  Ventura, CA 93003
                  (805) 212-9582

I’ve done another 200 or so miles on the RT since the seat and have enjoyed not feeling the usual pains from the regular seat. So far, so good. I hope this helps anyone looking to have a saddle made and not wanting to be without a saddle for any length in time.

That’s great news! When Nicole and I rode up to Rocky”s shop in ’15, Adrian was the one that actually built my seat. He did a terrific job, by the way.
