It’s really setup to be a camping rally.

Since you don’t know your destination until the night before, it would be hard, but not impossible, to hotel.

Super fun edition!  Thanks to John, Jan, and Henry for great articles and product reviews.  I look forward to meeting our new members and creating the NEXT great story.

And, of course, none of this is possible without the amazing layout and creativity of Henry, our newsletter editor.  Well done!

              Ladies and Gentlemen,

Thank you to all who voted.  There were 41 ballots cast, all unanimously for Ric and Rafael for the positions of Board Members.  Congratulations!

Come on out to the picnic this weekend where we will install those new board members and give thanks to Harry and Gilbert for their time serving on our board.

                        Hi South Coasters!

Reminder, come on out tonight and enjoy the energy, eat good food, and swap motor y stories.

                          Gilbert, and team,

Thanks for all of your hard work!

I’m not sure what I’m most excited about: the great South Coast camaraderie, Danny’s Key Lime pie, Brandon’s smoked ribs, or having survived a year as president.

Hey, if you haven’t signed up on the event page, please do so.  Gilbert needs to know how many  to plan for.  While you are at it, send him a note through this forum or by email, telling him what you are bringing: salad, side dish, desert.

Gilbert, Mr and Mrs President are bringing a green salad and a desert.

Camping at 6,000′ in October, what could go wrong!  And, do I have a checked history with Sunrise Hwy and Mt Laguna?

I know we are a long way off but, camping anyone?  I’ll probably reserve a site. $72 divided 4 ways.  Can’t beat that.

Oh my gosh!  I just pre-rode Glendora Mountain and Ridge Roads.

If you are not signed up for our General Meeting and ride on Saturday, slap yourself, stop reading, and hover over the “Event Calendar” link above.  Click on the June 3rd event and sign up!  The tarmac is as crappy as ever but the wildflowers are amazing.  If you’ve never been on GMR it is one of the greater LA area bucket list rides.  Beginning at 1,000 ft, you climb to over 4,200 feet and then hover up and down at that level, skimming west to east along ridge with breathtaking views down on the San Gabriel Valley.  If that weren’t enough, when you finish the ride you get to have lunch with me… or rather all of your other good friends.

The weather today was a bit soupy as you can see from these shots but, look at those flowers.

Thanks Ric, Pete, John, Bill, and Carl for a super fun weekend.  Riding through Yosemite Valley with mild traffic, 90 mile poker run, Carl’s first-time attempts at the street skills and English Trials courses.  Much fun, good food, and great friends!

Thanks to all for coming out to Irv’s Bike Night.  It was a big success.  Great food, fun people, and we talked to several folks who seemed interested in joining us.  This won’t be the last bike night.  Irv’s wants to continue holding these throughout the summer.  So more opportunities to come out and support them!
