It is 5.6 miles west of the 101 on Hwy 1 between San Luis Obispo and Morro Bay. It is about 2 miles closer to SLO than to Morrow Bay. North side of Hwy 1.

              Hi Andreas,

The General Meeting and the ride to the General Meeting are open to anyone!!  There are two meet-up spots for the ride to Josie’s Hideout. For those in the Orange County, Southern LA County area the meet-up is in Mission Viejo (See location above in initial entry). If you live in the Inland Empire or the Temecula/Riverside direction, there is a meet-up in Murrietta on Clinton Keith just west of the I-15 (Exact location listed in an entry above).

Welcome!! We look forward to riding with you.

We have finalized the Group Dinner for Friday night in Sedona. We have made arrangements at Javelina Cantina Sedona for 5:30PM. This will be the only organized group meal. It is 1.6 miles from the campground to the restaurant. We will be back from the Grand Canyon in plenty of time to clean up and go to dinner.

                      Javelina Cantina
                      671 AZ 179
                      Sedona, AZ 86336

PLEASE plan on being at the restaurant on time!

As the restaurant does not do individual checks for groups we ask that each of you please bring sufficient cash with you to pay for your meal and cocktails. We have set up a spreadsheet for the orders so it will be very easy for us to calculate the cost for each person in the group. There is no group fee just the cost of your meal/drinks and a 20% gratuity which is standard.

I have confirmed with the following 16 people that you are going to attend the group dinner. If you are NOT going to join us I need you to contact me by Tuesday evening at the latest.

We have contacted a taxi company that has a 7 passenger van and we can make arrangements for him to pick-up the people in the hotels, drop then at the restaurant then run down and make 2 trips to the Campground to shuttle everyone to dinner. He will also get us back after dinner. Please let me know if you are interested in this. It will be quite inexpensive as we will be dividing it between everyone.

For those of you returning on Sunday to Bishop and then home on Monday, I have had a request to go through Body.We can discuss the final route on the ride.

It adds quite a bit of time to the trip so we would have to have KSU at 8:00 instead of 9:00 and we would skip the June Lake Loop.

Here is a GPX on the route option.

There are only 239 passes left for June 8th on the Yosemite Reservation site. If you have the slightest idea you might go on the ride I would suggest spending the $2.00 and purchasing your pass now. There are only 239 passes left on the 8th and the 9th & 10th are sold out. The pass is good for 3 days and so it will work as we are going thru the Park on the 10th.

Gilbert, we are happy to have you join us on the Sunday ride to Bishop. As they say….the more the merrier!!!!

The ride from South Lake Tahoe to Orange County (Irv Seavers) is 450 miles.

On Sunday we will most likely take a couple of side routes off 395 and have a casual lunch in Mammoth. Any recommendations for the route are welcome. I thought we would head back-up Hwy 50 to Hwy 89 thru Markleeville to 395 and then to Mammoth. More to come!!!!

Any one else??? All are welcome!!!!

Thought I would throw out some information om accommodations and plans for the ride. This is what 5 of us that are going on the ride are doing:
                                            – Thursday night – Kernville Inn – room with 2 beds $136.74
                                            – Friday night – Gunn House in Sonora- room with 2 beds $149.05
                                            – Saturday night – Days Inn by Wyndham in South Lake Tahoe -2 beds – $167.91
                                            – All prices include the taxes, etc. and are for 2 people. Single rooms are available at a lower cost per night.

We are sharing rooms so the cost is not too bad. Found the best pricing on Expedia.

A couple of us that are not going to Oregon are going to break the 450 mile ride home into 2 days spending Sunday night in Bishop. Planning on a fairly early start on Monday so we should be home by 1:00pm. Anyone is welcome to join us. We are staying at the Bishop 395 Inn (used to be the Red Roof Inn) on Sunday night. We stayed here on the Fall Colors Ride.
$148 inclusive for a single room.
