Thanks for reviving this guys! Appreciate the info.
Yes Ron, I was thinking the same thing. Will need to be extra vigilant about looking out for road conditions along the way.
You do know Mark B, three topics can be included in one post…. or do you thoughts come in spurts like mine…. :0
Good info Mark, thanks!
Miss you brother,
Karl
Where do you store this, a bit big for a wallet, however would be good to be very accessible and in a logical place for someone to find in an emergency.
Good share, thanks
Saturday is open…….. just sayin….
Registration for the Airhead event is pretty Old School, like the bikes…..
.
It is either by direct mail to John Covington or Paypal. Note the price increase after 1/31/19!

Here is the info from the Airhead site:

Due to the popularity of Thursday arrivals, we have decided to make it offical. The DVR27 will be four nights of camping.
Opening night, we will have a bratwurst and beer cookout, for donations. Friday night thru Sunday morning, awesome meals by Pixton/Kempton MotoCatering. I do know that Saturday night is Tri Tip. Vegitarian options are available. No lunches are provided.
We will also have the amenities, you’ve come to know and love: nightly bonfires, fresh fruit, snacks, water and some amazing beverages. Maybe some homebrew too.
Registration before 1/31/19 is $80. After 1/31/19 registration is $100, if there are any openings available. We are in the walkin tent area only. Parking is limited. No motorhome camping. If you need to cancel do so before 1/31/19 for a full refund.
Refer back here for the latest up to date information.
The Park charges $25 for motorcycles to enter for a week. Other rates for other vehicles. I believe Senior Pass gets you in for free.

I really liked the Long Street hotel when we stayed there three years ago Steve, it is just that we are not able to really participate in the Airhead event, so I thought we would stay across the street from Furnace Creek in either Sunset or Texas campgrounds. We can hang out with the airheads at their camp, meals, fire, and 40 miles less driving each way several times that weekend. At least for the RV option is seems like little value to drive the MH nearly 100 miles further and one or two days of riding the bike back a forth the 40 miles.
Come on out with us Thursday afternoon, spend Valentines evening in the desert with a glass of wine and bring the dual sports! π
Hey Eric,
A big improvement was made several months ago by Rick C. You no longer need that Super Special Link.
Go to the Ride List Link, in the upper left it asks for your “Member Name”, then push the button “Log into the Ride List:, that is all you need to log in.
Karl
PS Again, not sure if a new member would need to use the “Sign up for the Ride List” at all anymore, perhaps we can remove that button on the drop down?
This would be awesome! I have been deliquent myself, in for the reocmmitment.
Many people say “Thank You” after an event is over for the good time they had, let’s show our appreciation to ride leaders by this small gesture of participating in the Ride List.
Anyone interested in an off-road day either Friday or Saturday, we will be riding trails to see the more remote side of Death Valley. We will be particpating in all the Airhead/South Coaster activities, meals, fire, etc, but doing off road ride routes. We will meet up at the Airhead/South Coaster base camp in Furnace creek same time as the main group.
We will be staying at the Sunset or Texas campgrouonds across the street from the Airhead/South Coaster base at Furnace Creek. There are no hook ups for RV’s. See link below for details:
https://www.nps.gov/deva/planyourvisit/camping.htm
If you are interested, let us know and we can talk about routes.
Karl & Sharon
Looking good Jesse, look forward to the ride. Sharon and I will likely be trailing you on Friday as I need to work half day Friday.
FYI, I called the hotel and they still have rooms available at the group rate that was quoted, however Shirley no longer works at the hotel, so just ask for “Reservations” and mention “South Coast BMW Riders Club” and that should do it.
Longstreet Inn Casino and RV Resort
Brandon,
There is an update appears in the Calendar event info. Not sure if you mean another Forum/Rides Thread.
Karl
Wish we could make it, great way to start off a New Year, have a good ride!
