We sure hope so Bill!
It’s 411 miles from home (avoiding “I” roads, of course. That’s as much as I’ve ridden this past year. I definitely need to work on my endurance. Got a month!
Hi All,
The open spots is down to 7 now at 9:00pm, most likely it will be gone tonight.
South coast attendees on the registration list:
John C.
Karl W. (2)
Jacob F.
Eric W.
Rob T.
Willis H.I got in. Not 100% sure I can make it, but that’s my goal.
Thank YOU, John for allowing me to serve the best BMW motorcycle club in Southern California. I hope to be riding soon and participating in club events as the progression allows. The good news is that the Peanut Gallery has accepted me as a full member!
Great job, Brandon! You will be a tough act to follow, but I’m confident Harry is up to the task.
Ron – Sooooo…if a camping event doesn’t provide a suitable motel option, it’s an outrage, but if a motel event doesn’t provide a camping option, you are on your own? I get it.
I just checked availability. The closest campground that has available space is San Simeon State Park. It’s 29 miles (or 35 minutes) from the event.
Let me know if anyone wants me to book a campsite.
I wouldn’t mind camping at Morro Bay SP providing I can ride by then. I’ll be pissed if I can’t.That’s two months.
Ron – You must be looking at the wrong calendar. It’s there!
Karl – Sharon does know I’ll be making margaritas, right?
I will be with my 3 cylinder, 1500cc machine! Yes, I am a bad ass!
๐Hey, Karl.
You might try contacting Joshua Buck at (562) 254-0452. He’s done trades with me in the past. Great guy to work with.Good luck!
I like my new Shoei Neotech (I think that’s what it is), although I have not worn it on a bike while moving. It is not only comfortable, but it also accommodates the Sena pretty well.
Warren – Sorry to hear about your dog. Doesn’t sound like a fun time (for her). Stock up on ice cream (for all three of you).
Eric-
What wan’t appropriate?Rick Catarineau – Smithville? Isn’t that right outside La Grange? I understand they have a lot of nice women there!
๐Ron Z – Saturday day ride is covered in the announcement. John C did a great job last time. I’m sure someone will do an equally stellar job this year.
Good job, John!
The Park Service has closed the campground and has canceled our reservation.
Sorry ’bout that.
Thanks for the update, Brandon.
Thanks, Ron.
More details on the campout:
The campsite is Stony Creek Campground, officially in the Sequoia National Forest between Sequoia National Park and Kings Canyon National Park on Highway 198. Our campsites are 42, 43 and 45. Fees for the campsite are $15/person/night. If you have to pay for parking, deduct that from the fee and turn in your receipt for parking. If you are going, please sign up for the ride list. If you can’t go, please remove yourself from the ride list. Officially, there is room for 18 riders/campers and 12 motorcycles. Depending on the Ranger, we may have to park some of the bikes in a remote area. Regarding meals, you are on your own. If you cook in the campground, be sure to bring extra to share. There is a restaurant (and showers!) about a half mile away at Stony Creek Lodge. Plan on being bear aware! Keep all food and other items with an aroma (toothpaste!) in a bear box that is latched. Thank God bears do not have opposable thumbs! -
