Great job, Harry!
Not because of the road conditions. That’s for sure.
SouthCoasters afraid of a little sand in the corners?
Say it ain’t so!I am bailing out on this event. I hope everyone has a lot of fun.
I do!
I’ll bring chocolate. It’s kinda my thing.
Just booked a room at the hotel!
Whoohoo!Nice edition. Thank you, Harry.
Wow! I think this is a club record for getting the BoD minutes (at least the draft) posted. Congrats Warren!
…and great job to the rest of the board on administering the best BMW club in Southern California!
Looks like a nice event. I’ll try to make it.
Good job, Warren.
I don’t know why there is so much handwringing about the weather. Yes, the ride up will be hot. Yes, it will be hot in Lindsay. No, it will not be hot in the mountains. Today, it was 95 in Lindsay. It was 79 in Grant Grove Village. A lot of the road in the mountains is over 8,000 feet.
Did you ride Lolo Pass?
Update on Bill Schimko:
He called from Pocatello, Idaho. He rode from 11 pm last night to 6 am this morning.
He didn’t know what day it is. He thought it was Tuesday. I had a hard time convincing him it was Monday.
He has three days to get to Great Falls. He says he is done with Interstates and is going to take his time.Bill Schimko left Hacienda Heights at 1 am this morning and arrived in Mesquite, NV at 6 am. He is going to rest and do another midnight run through Utah.
Another option to Mark’s suggestion is get powdered Gatorade at the grocery store. The problem with liquid Gatorade is that the electrolytes are held in suspension with sucrose. Powdered Gatorade does not contain sucrose. You then mix a 50% solution in your Camelbak. Since you are not running a marathon, you don’t need a 100% solution. I found that 3 scoops in a 70 oz. Camelbak does the trick. That way, you can sip and stay hydrated as you ride.
Regardless, do something to stay hydrated. Dehydration can be a killer on a motorcycle.
I’m taking my time and arriving Friday afternoon.
Looking forward to seeing you, Rob.
I’m really sorry to hear this news. I hope you can take care of things.
Planning on going into Yosemite Park while at the 49er Rally? Guess what, if you haven’t got a day permit reservation you are out of luck! That is my situation. Just learned that a reservation is required and they are sold out! So no Yosemite on the 49er, and no Road to the Sun ride in Glacier for the MOA rally! F that!!!
Memorial weekend is not the best time to go to Yosemite. Traffic will be a crawl. Instead, I suggest you immerse yourself in the rally. There’s a poker run, GS rides, GS classes and a bunch of camaraderie.
Now the trick is to find an open campsite!
Will Bill, if you are able to make it, your first bear is on me! That would be great if it works out!
Thanks, and the first margarita is on me!
