Ron, yes, I’ve decided to move on to other thrills. Karl, thanks for the reminder on the clutch. It went in at about 57k. While they were in there, they put in a new rear main seal and transmission input shaft seal. No issues with those, but it usually makes good sense to replace those low cost items if they have the bike cracked open for other reasons – like a new clutch.
Sorry I’ll miss a great weekend, but I have to bail. Hope everyone has a great time.
I’ve reserved a room. Thanks Warren.
I just reserved a room at Creekside Inn.
I’m sorry to say I learned yesterday that I have to bail out of the Kernville ride. I hope it’s a good one for all who can attend.
I’m in.
Trish and I are doing fine in North Carolina, staying with our daughter and grandkids including newborn girl, born on Saint Patrick’s Day. I brought the inner workings and hidden mechanisms of an airhead transmission with me and have finished replacing the worn parts. Looking forward to returning to my own garage to reassemble the gearbox and get it back on the motorcycle where it belongs.
We have 14 riders signed up. The weather-guessers are predicting fair conditions, and Caltrans reports that roads along the planned route are open. I made dinner reservations for our group at convenient locations in Monterey and Morro Bay – 7:00 p.m. each night. I intend to depart Spaghettini promptly at 8:00 a.m. Saturday. Please meet there no later than 7:45; earlier is better.
If you plan to go on this ride, please reply on this thread and on the Ride List. I don’t use facebook, so I won’t see any responses posted there.
Trish and I are both sorry and disappointed, but we have to bail on this ride. A relative has passed away, and we need to attend services in Virginia.
Trish and I plan to go; both nights.
Ron, Karl – I plan to go on the street rides, but will camp rather than stay at hotel.
John I’d like to participate.
I plan to go. Room is reserved.
I can bring some tire change and wheel balance equipment to supplement whatever Paul has. If you need a tire, remember to bring some wheel weights. Assuming my steel trap memory doesn’t rust over by then, I’ll bring a multimeter to chase airhead electrical issues.
I plan to attend. I’m caught up on my own bikes. Will be glad to offer assistance. Free – and worth every penny. I’ll bring some tools needed for airheads and R / GS 1200.
The weather guessers think conditions at Wynola may be nasty Tuesday. I’m going for a ride. If it’s bad where I want to go, we’ll try somewhere else. How about Breckinridge Road?
Bill, two mature adults will be a welcome addition, so long as I don’t have to become mature myself.
I’m going. Just finished hotel reservations.
Thank you for such a splendid Christmas party, Kellie and Rob. The perfect setting for Trish and me to reconnect with the group after our long absence.
