Here’s the route we worked up to get to Mariposa. We’re foregoing Sherman Pass also in favor of more backroads after Bakersfield. Leaving Panera Bread in La Canada at 8 a.m. Friday. About 340 miles, 7-8 hrs.

Rick and Lisa, if you want, we can all ride up Friday morning, like we usually do! I’ll do a route there, maybe one back, and we can review.
As a reminder, there is no overall club organized ride to the Rally. I will be heading up Friday morning, with Roberto, Brandon?, Rick and Lisa?. Likely we will be setting up our tents on the big field—lots of room and grassy.
Also, there will also be mileage to add to the contest, which I will take care of.Okay, we will be having the Annual SCer Picnic at Yorba Regional Park in Yorba Linda! We have a sheltered picnic/barbecue area reserved (#7). Very nice setting.
Bring your bikes (if driving), horseshoes, Frisbee, and lounging chairs. Or you can rent a paddleboat to tool around the lake, rent a bike, or take a stroll. For the younger people, there is a playground within a very short distance.
The park opens at 7 a.m., and Beth and I should be there by 9 a.m., setting up. The Club will provide hamburgers, hot dogs and/or brats, and soft drinks/water. As is usual, this is a pot luck for side dishes, appetizers, desserts, your favorite recipe! Please let Beth or me know what you will bring, so we have a balance of courses!
Although we will plan to munch around 11:30-12, this can be an all-day relaxation time. The exciting awards for the Mileage Contest, along with any other prizes we can dream up, will follow lunch.
The website for the park is on the Calendar page. There is a $5 per vehicle entry fee, FYI.
All members and family are invited!

I believe I will be riding also.
Great, Erasmo! And, I’ll take the blame for the very short delay—–we needed to get some info on the Ballot, etc.
Karl, great article. By the way, who is John Dean? Wasn’t he connected with Richard Nixon?
Thanks, Karl and Sharon——Excellent weekend!
Thanks, Erik, and Welcome to the SCBMWRC!
A number of us have done the Hawthorne PD Ride to Live classes, and that was very much a learning experience. As you might have noted, we put the dates for the Ride to Live training on our calendar, and will continue to do so.
Look forward to meeting you!
Thank you, Bill. Being on the Board does not take a lot of time, and actually is fun and rewarding. Most of the current BOD have been there for a good number of years, and it is always good to get different ideas and viewpoints. We look forward to hearing from you!
I’m passing on the Saturday night dinner myself. It’s okay, but I’d rather spend $20 somewhere else.
Wind? What wind? We don’t need no stinkin’ wind!
Great riding day, Mark. Thanks to all who were there!

Excellent!
Eeek! Didn’t realize it was M.Day! I changed it to May 13, Saturday, only because I didn’t want to make it the week before the 49er Raly.
Thanks, Tom, for the deserty weekend! I had a good time, and a good ride home Saturday evening!
Very glad some new members made it—-Chris R., Jake, and Troy & Michelle.
It might behoove us to see if we can snag another campsite, if possible. So whoever gets to Tamarisk Grove first, let’s see if we can, or put our name in.
Brandon and I will meet OC group at the 74 and Grand, at the end of Ortega Hwy at 1:30.
Hey, if you all are riding over Ortega, I can meet you at the corner of 74 and Grand in Lake Elsinore, say 1:30-1:45.
Looking forward to meeting you, Troy! And we promise not to laugh. Well, at least, I won’t.
I might be able to do the first couple of days. This sounds great.
Great, Mark! With a Senior Pass, the cost to get into the Park is $0.
Good catch, David! I knew something was missing!
