goatmototours.com~260 miles, route includes (Good/Best rides as per Butler maps) Start: Flintridge – Panera Bread – 9am. KSU Gas stop #1 – Flying J – Frazier Park Lunch- Falcon’s Nest, Yelp 4 stars 3216 Mt Pinos Way, Frazier Park, CA 93225
Excellent!! Thank you Sergio. Day 1 already looks like a blast!!!
Just out of curiosity, is this the tentative route to our lunch spot on day 1? Panera Bread to Little Tujunga Canyon, then through Bouquet to Lake Elizabeth, past the Rock Inn and over to the Falcon’s Nest? It’s totally OK if there’s another route, just wondering if there’s a more scenic way to get there.

goatmototours.comGreat Newsletter! However, something is missing…… (I did a write-up for the Central Coast ride to be included in the next newsletter.)
John, there’s a repository where all content should be uploaded to, to be included in the NL. Anything emailed, texted or otherwise submitted that is not in the repository will not be included. Here’s the container for all future submissions:Goat Moto Tours -
goatmototours.comI concur! Many have also found the club via Google, thanks to Henry. i know you’ve got a busy plate Henry, but please keep doing your excellent work!

goatmototours.comHenry, The website is looking better than ever! From the scrolling banner, to Safe Club Miles, Upcoming Rides, and Mileage Contest. All excellent. At the SLO camp out last weekend, Mary told me that we’re “famous” because of our online presence. She says that the people she hangs with up in the area talk about us and all of the events we have going. Thanks for all you’re doing Henry
That just warmed my heart. Wonderful to hear what others who are not even connected to the club say about our image and our presence. As much as everyone gives me credit for the site, it’s a true team effort and it’s because of everyone’s contributions that the club has an active and fresh vibe so gratitude goes to everyone who helped me stitch it together.Goat Moto Tours -
goatmototours.comIf you want to join into the group chatter on SCBMWRC rides you’ll want to stick with Sena. There are other reasons why I prefer Sena too, and I currently have helmets with current versions of Sena and Cardo installed. I’ll add that I was strictly a Cardo Packtalk Bold user when I bought my BMW and started riding with SCBMWRC and I wasn’t real happy about having to switch at the time, but now I only use the Cardo-equipped helmet when I’m riding with friends riding other brands of bikes and using Cardo communicators, and that’s pretty rare. The primary reason I prefer Sena is they offer Open Mesh and Cardo doesn’t. With the Open Mesh protocol there’s no pairing involved. You turn on your communicator, activate mesh, select one of 9 channels (SCBMWRC always use channel 1 which is default when you turn the unit on) and ~Voila~, you’re connected to everyone else on that channel. With Cardo units it’s necessary to pair all the units in a group and that can be problematic, especially when you show up right at KSU and everyone is ready to pull out. I even keep open mesh turned on when I’m riding solo because I can (and often do) exchange greetings and road & traffic information with riders going the opposite direction. Among other things, I think that has saved me from a few speeding tickets. Anyway, that’s not something you can do with a Cardo unit. Sena’s will also operate in paired mesh mode if privacy is an issue. Duty calls! Time to go to work.
Cardo does offer Mesh now with other Cardo units. Won’t work in a hybrid environment though.Goat Moto Tours -
goatmototours.comHello, I have an old Sena 20s and it’s time to upgrade. Which one is better, Sena or Cardo? What model of either manufacturer do you recommend?
TC, there’s also an alternative option to make your ancient Sena 20s Mesh capable. I’ve done that with my Schuberth built-in Sena 10u. There’s an adapter you pair with your legacy Sena that makes it Mesh ready. This is the adapterAnd here’s a demoGoat Moto Tours -
goatmototours.comAhh maann…this is a ride I’ve been wanting to do. Unfortunately, I am getting in the day before from a 3 3-week ride, I think I would be completely “biked out” by then. But I’ll keep an eye out for it…you never know…

goatmototours.comHi, New fella here, riding GSA. Dreaing doing a trip to Baja for 2-3 days (if it makes sense to go for that short). Never been, new to the area, my wife is scared of crossing the border but we have a bunch of touring done under our belts. Interested in getting off the paved roads too, if other riders are willing to – not a must. Would love to arrange a ride with some folks that are experienced and willing to show us the ropes. Preferably camping but open to other ideas too.
Hey Mat,I don’t think there’s any club sanctioned rides for Baja on the calendar for this year. Don’t fret, I am taking a group of riders to an easy weekender from March 17th-19th, 2023, in a week 1/2 time. This is going to be a great intro to Baja for you as we are visiting the Ensenada Beer Fest, visit the La Bufadora, go wine tasting and two dinners at some of the best restaurants in the region. This would be the perfect intro to riding in Mexico for you and your wife because it’s south of the border enough to feel like you’re in Mexico, but not too rural that gives you a cultural shock. I may be able to squeeze both of you in for this trip but I need a nod fairly quickly so I can grab a room for you guys. Please call me if you’re serious about going to Mexico: 310-403-6962Goat Moto Tours -

goatmototours.comOkay folks, I have some weather updates as of 9am this morning. For each of the 3 days I’ve put together charts showing precipitation, temperature and wind speed along each point of the day’s route. I don’t think it’s as bad as Pete makes it out to be. But we’re still going to take another look at noon, and see where we are then. Assuming it stays the same as my charts from 9am this morning, who thinks these conditions are still acceptable for the ride?
My gear is waterproof and so I my mindset. If every ride is sunny and 75, then where’s the adventure? You might as well ride to Starbucks if you don’t want your bike to get wet.I’m still in!Goat Moto Tours -
goatmototours.comLate sign up here. Just an FYI, not sure why that is but booking directly with the hotel is $100.96 for two nights an through booking.com it’s $83.94 for two nights. So that’s what I got! Aren’t we supposed to get group discount with the BMW23 code, as opposed to being charged twice as much?!?
I will be joining the group at the intersection of highway 62 and 177. Maybe if Ed could turn on his Life360 app so I can track the group and be there at the right time, that would be fantastic. Or maybe giving me a quick text when you guys get on the road from Bravo Burger. Thank you in advance.- This reply was modified 1 year ago by Henry Salari.

goatmototours.comWould the organizer please add this one to the rider list. Thank you.
I’m way up on the north side, a few blocks from the La Cañada Panera.
If the breakfast destination has not been set yet, I’d like to throw this in the hat as well: There’s a cute little place here in La Cañada called “Dish” that has a very delicious menu. Pasting the map and images down here.

goatmototours.comI’m pretty sure most of you have read/watched the news over the weekend about the violence and unrest in northern Baja. If you haven’t, here’s an article:
I do not want to sound insensitive towards your concerns and if you feel this trip is not for you Harry and I totally understand. We will prepare a statement, an updated event detail with a must-pay-by date, a cancellation date and a waiting list option for those who are thinking of not going. Please expect an email to go out later this week.
Thank you,
H & H
