well.. It may rain a little on Sunday. Bring your raincoat is you have one.
Seriously though, Watching the weather report, and will continue watching up to Friday. Unless the projections get much worse, we are on. What’s a little weather to us South Coasters! We made it through Hurricane Hillary.
I promised sunshine for the Laughlin ride. I may have over promised. Looks like rain is projected at 50% for the ride back Sunday. Just be ready for a little liquid sunshine Sunday. It just adds to the adventure.. right?
Thanks Pete for the effort setting this up. See you all Friday.
Ed
Looking forward to Laughlin. I am driving (Car) to Cottonwood AZ. tomorrow. I am planning on driving Highway 62 (Rice Road) to see how boring it really is. Several have suggested we take 62 on our way to Laughlin. This is a great road for people who appreciate lonely deserted highway. And don’t forget the SHOE Art.
And the tasty local snack, Salted Burro Ears in Oatman

Great Christmas party. Thank you Ric for all your efforts.
It was great seeing all of you. Who ended up with the gnomes?
Eric.. Add me to the camping list. I am really looking forward to spending time in Joshua Tree, instead of just driving through.
Thanks Pete, We get another shot at the “adequate” Pioneer in 2024. At least the Pioneer run by nice people.
We will bring a Caprese appetizer plate.
Ed Taylor
Bill, Thanks that helps. River Lodge has quoted room rates at 38 a night. Waiting on Pioneer to get back with me. I agree Pioneer sounds much more convenient.
Laughlin
Last time we did this we booked at the New Pioneer Casino When I asked members about the hotel, the general consensus was “Its adequate”
Friends have suggested the River Lodge in Laughlin.
Does anyone have “local knowledge” or a preference? The River lodge has covered parking. And discounted room rates if you book 10 rooms+ . That’s probably offered everywhere.
Scrolling through the pictures of the River Lodge, one picture is of a double room with the beds not made up. I wonder who would let that slip by.
I do have a calls into both locations waiting for an answer on group reservations.
I am sorry to say I cant make this meeting. I would love to have sampled Julian beer, They probably have pie there also, right??
Ed
I will gladly sample both for you Ed, I hope all is OK.

Great weekend. Thank you Steve for a well planned and produced trip. The routes interesting, thank you Pete. Saturday night dinner, incredible.
Ron, Sorry to hear you are you cant make it. Willis’s Rx suggestion worked for us.
Eric I am still in for camping. The loaded bike looks like the Beverly Hillbillie’s truck. I need to get better at this camping thing.
September 28, 2023 at 2:09 pm in reply to: Oct General Meeting: Irv Seavers with Day Ride to Farmhouse 78 #20747As Ric has mentioned earlier, our October 7th General Meeting is a ride to Farmhouse 78 Santa Ysabel, in San Diego County.
We know this restaurant from past meetings. They do a wonderful job of providing a space and staff to support us. PLEASE REGESTER as soon as you can. We need to give them a head count ASAP.
Most of us will be meeting at Irv Sievers for the ride, but some of us will jump on at the Lake Elsinore end of Ortega.
I will bring my now famous or infamous Tequila to the camp fire.
Pete and Ric, That was a fun meeting. Thank you for pulling is all together and Henry, You are amazing at recapping the day. I have been sending your / our utube links to my family who think I should be home gardening. An exciting day for my non riding friends is a game of chess or canasta, not lane splitting.
Cool picture Rick, How fast do you think they could go before Ella’s hat would be an issue.
I always appreciate the Historical incites.
Once again, Henry great video .
Sergio, thank you for organizing an incredible weekend.
You can date any movie by the cell phone being used. On our ride starting times we need to add “Pairing time” to our KSU.
