Friday forecast is that we’ll be running ahead of the rain in the OC/Temecula area ๐
Thereafter, there is no rain forecasted for Calexico, etc (for now).
On Sunday, rain is forecasted in the morning, tapering off by the afternoon (in the OC/Temecula) area. So, if
we keep on track of time, we should also avoid it on Sunday.Given the change to Daylight Savings Time on Sunday we have a slight schedule conflict. The Yuma Prison
opens at 9am, which is 10am for CA. Thus, we’ll have to decide on Saturday night dinner which of the two
stops to pick (ie Yuma Prison vs Salvation Mtn) in order to make it in time for lunch in Borrego Springs (Red Ocotillo). Thanks Bill, good to know ๐
Good to know. Sorry for the mistake on your name. Will see you then.
David, I’ll keep you as a maybe with the hope that you can make it.Update. Tom White will be leaving on Friday as well. Anyone who wants to leave then can contact him.
The Saturday ride meets at Starbucks San Juan Capistrano Mission at 8:00am and leaves at 8:15am.
We’re planning on having lunch in Calexico, then arriving in Yuma mid afternoon. On Sunday, we’ll visit the
famous Yuma Prison and then head back looking for Salvation :-). Plan on having lunch in Borrego Springs
at the Red Ocotillo (was recommended by people who went there on the Borrego Springs campout).
I need a head count for the reservations for lunch and dinner. So far, I understand this to be the list:Jessie V.
Tom W.
Brandon W.
Dan Burtt
Chris R.
David O.
Roberto G.
Garry N
Dale S (Maybe?)Let me know if you’re not on that list and want to go.
Attached are the garmin gpx files for the trip.

Had a great time riding back. Thanks Bill for leading the ride through Mulholland and Topanga!
Just a heads up that the Radisson reservations will expire this Friday, Feb 9th.
Hi Chris,
I’ll be joining the ride. See you at Panera’s this Sunday, before 9:30am.

Hi Brandon,
Iโll likely meet your group at the Portal. Iโm guessing that youโll be getting there between 2:00 to 2:30pm?
See you then,
Erasmo
Hi Brandon,
Diane and I will be joining the ride.
Looking forward to this weekend!I’ll be leaving on Friday morning and joining you along the 395. Karl, are you taking the 14 up?
Nice newsletter, David!
Nice job, David, well done!
Thank you guys!
I also know that I’ve left the newsletter on good hands, let’s welcome David Omlor as newsletter editor! Thanks Karl. I did get to mention the Solstice ride on my Editor’s column, but didn’t get it to the calendar
section. I know that you’ll get a good turn-out as that has always been a club favorite.Glad you guys enjoyed it! I did have a great time. Many sights and places I hadn’t been/seen before.
I’ve got lots of great pics to post, but our photomeister is on the road!
Tito did get his drone to fly after we left and took a nice video of it!
BTW, the total mileage was 400mi ๐I had a great time today. Thanks to all that came to ride to Salvation Mountain. Special thanks to Tom
Cawein, John C, and Karl for helping Blake M get his bike towed. Sorry that Blake fell and couldn’t finish
the ride to Niland, but glad that he was ok (the bike can always be fixed).
The rest of the group made it to lunch at Buckshot Diner and had a great time. Salvation Mountain was a treat! and we were lucky that it wasn’t too hot, weather-wise ๐
Again, thanks to all that came!Yes, we should be arriving at the ARCO in Lake Elsinore between 9:15 and 9:30am. See you then.
Could I get a head count of the people attending?
Thanks -
