Thanks Gilbert for organizing! Elaine & I will be attending the Sat July 8th picnic… and will bring THE KeyLime pie. -Danny Wassenaar
Thank you guys for finding out about, and for sharing the hyperlink to the “Keep the Lights On” fundraiser for Panamint Springs Resort. The nicely worded description also includes a video now that explains their plight.
It’s unfortunate there are, and will continue to be, increasingly more and more small businesses in need of help and support. I personally feel the Board made the correct vote; and, am hopeful that our club members individually take the time to read PSR’s situation and decide for themselves whether or not to donate.
Great job..Thank you, Brandon!
Elaine and I are now booked at the Inn as well.
One more report…the deposit detail

I’ll not be going out for a joy ride. Not much of a sacrifice if you ask me. I’d like to see Pioneertown someday but not in the face of this headwind.
Elaine and I are IN; bringing side dish of green bean casserole and two gifts
Here are optional GPS tracks for the Jacumba ride in both the gbd and gpx file formats for MapSourse and BaseCamp that I am passing along. Routes include going up through Banning and then south up thru Idyllwild. If don’t want to go the long way around you can go through Hemet. That is the way I plan to go on Friday. If you open these routes on MapSourse or BaseCamp, supposedly you can see some various options available. I claim no ownership of these as they were forwarded and provided by an OCMC member we met at an Irv Seaver event earlier this month. Their club rides to this resort annually. I haven’t figured out how to use nav units very well; waiting for a training class…Have fun and ride safe!

Last Call: A little reminder for those sitting on the fence.. hotel rooms at the Jacumba Resort and Spa are going, going…Call and rsvp with Manager Tina if you are gonna go and want to make an rsvp. She plans to release the rest of the block of rooms late tonight or tomorrow morning!
South Coasters: How about this? Join in a weekend of R & R (‘Ride and Relax’) November 15-17, 2019
We will be staying at the Jacumba Hot Springs Resort & Spa. Please contact by telephone Jacumba Spa at (619)766-4333 to reserve your suite. If you goggle the resorts website (jacumbaresort.com), you can check out the pictures and see the property and all the services they provide, (like massages!). Maybe not a well known 5-star name-brand all inclusive resort, but hey, ride and then relax in world renowned naturally heated mineral springs water filled pools and a jacuzzi, as well as, a bar and restaurant. A block of 10 rooms have been rsvp’d under the name of SCBMWRC for Sat (11/16/19) night only; and, another 5 rooms for both Fri (11/15/19) and Sat nights (11/16/19).
One group of riders plan to go early on Friday leaving from Irv Seaver Motorcycles at 10am, staying two nights and another group is leaving on Saturday with Brandon Wilson leading this second group from Irv Seaver Motorcycles at 9am, staying one night 11/16/19. The Friday group will also plan to do riding on Saturday, with the option that some may wish to stay and rest and relax by the pools. Routes to be determined but will likely include fun twisty and sweeper roads from South County Ortega Hwy, thru Temecula/Fallbrook/Julian, Laguna Mtns, Anza Borrego, and the like.
Ask for South Coast BMW Riders Club rate of $99 a night (regularly $129) for a two bed Queen Suite, or if you book early, a King Deluxe suite. The resort will also give us a choice of seating inside all together or in the patio for dinner. The resort and especially the chef’s will want to know how large a group we will be.
So, reply on this thread if you are interested in going to this event. I’ll work out next how to update the Ride List Sign-Up and prepare maps. Please make your reservations with the resort as soon as possible; no later than Wednesday, 11/13/19, after which the resort will release the block of rooms.
Hope you can come!
FYI, Elaine and I are meeting up Saturday at Irv Seavers at 11am if anyone attending Streetmasters is interested and wanting to ride up together to meet John Crittenden at Panera Cafe in La Canada. We should have about an hour to eat lunch there before we leave with John at 1pm and ride to the event.
Great to hear you and your wife plan to go Stuart! When you signed up for Streetmasters using their website, you would have likely received a reply shortly afterwards from Nancy Foote referencing your order number. Double check your email history and/or contact her at Streetmasters <[email protected]> to confirm you are paid up and good to go. Also, btw, most of the attendees are riding back on Sunday after the training and are staying at the hotel only one night (Sat). Look forward to seeing you at the event!
Kudos Karl, and thank you! You are a man of many talents. Great Job with putting together all the photos, writing and editing of this newsletter and the eleven newsletters before this one. You put forth a lot of positive energy, heart and soul into your work and you did a wonderful job. I really do hope you will continue to compose and take pictures for the club in the future. Of all the Board positions, I think this one is the most difficult as it requires to be done each and every month, the whole year long. The picture of your empty boots is perfect and says it all. The caption should state: these will be hard to fill. You are much appreciated and congratulated for your efforts and service. Thanks again,
…just a reminder & shout-out to those who plan to start riding tomorrow from Irv Seavers:
Kick stands are still set to go up at 9am tomorrow from Irv Seaver Motorcycles. Depending on traffic and road conditions, we should arrive at Steve Leo’s between 11 and 11:30am.Bill Siddons: You may wish to contact Steve Leo or I directly if you still need or want directions from where you are coming from. My cell number is (714) 788-3314.
Below is a link to a Goggle Maps route that I put together this morning. Hopefully you can access and view it.
(The correct address btw, is actually 1655 Hauser St, Thousand Oaks not what is shown in the map- sorry)Thanks, and see sooner. Danny
Campers, here’s a couple of things to consider and work out amongst yourselves in advance of this weekend….
First: Please note, the two Board members, Roberto and Chris who prepaid and made the camping RSVP’s for the club will not be going on the ride this weekend. Thus, neither one of them will be there to check-in into the campground. I’m thinking someone is going to have to work it out in advance with who is going to be whom and say you are Roberto Giraldes( who lives in Huntington Beach) or Chris Roady (who lives in Brea). Or, make arrangements in the next couple of days with both Chris and Roberto and have them make contact in advance with Morro Stand State Beach to let them know of the change (tele # 805-772-8812) . The Confirmation numbers are noted below.
I happened to read the Reservation Policy that accompanied the camp site confirmations and sales receipts. In part it says: “Reservations that are made for California State Parks are for personal use only. Any resale, transfer, use, for profit activity, or memberships that are not approved in advance by the State are strictly prohibited and will be subject to immediate cancellation without notice, refund or reimbursement….” Therefore, we just can’t have them put into the club’s name.
Specifically, sites #079 & #080 were rsvp’d by Roberto Giraldes, confirmation # 2009618; and, the two other sites #076 & #077 were rsvp’d by Chris Roady, confirmation #2009588. The club has already reimbursed in advance the (4) four campsites reserved for 2 nights each, for a combined total of $312 (=$39 per night, per site). If collectively you guys think you can do with fewer campsites, then cancelling one of the RSVPs is another option. We’d only be out the $7.99 per night for the reservation fee but save $35 per night for the campsite fee.
Second: From reading Roberto’s first forum entry above, he mentions that there is a 2 bike limit per campsite for parking. If more than 8 bikes are attending, someone may also want to find out and confirm if for an additional parking charge, additional vehicles can be added to a campsite.
Finally, can someone, preferably someone with a full face helmet, turn it upside down and please pass it around to collect from the other campers their fair share of the camping fees to reimburse the club? Think of it as: ” ‘MORRO -YOU pay more!! (Monday, April 15th)

Thank you John! Elaine and I are a “go” ; booked a king room for 2 nights.
That just might have my name all over it! Thank you Nicholas. I ride a 2012 R1200 GSA. Having one of those just might come in handy! -Danny
Elaine & I plan to be there. Pls save 2 1/2 seats for us.
Elaine & I also have to change our ride plans due to family coming in from out of state.
Last Minute Update: Please note a deviation is being made to the route for the first leg of tomorrow’s ride. For those interested in tracking and loading-up navigating devices with the exact route to be taken, attached is the new route in both GPX & Tyre file formats. We now intend to go from the 405 Fwy, I-10, & PCH and make our first right turn into the mountains on Los Flores Cyn Rd. This way, we’ll take our time rolling thru more turns to get to Chateau Leo for lunch by throwing in Schueren Rd, Stunt Rd, & on to Mulholland Hwy. We’ll plan our first short stop at the Rock Store, then continue on Mulholland turning north on Hwy 23 (which turns into Westlake Blvd), then left on Hillcrest, right on Erbes, and finally a left on Hauser circle, arriving hopefully around 11:30 am.
The Kick-Stands-Up (KSU) time and location remain the same: 9:am Spaghettini Restaurant Parking Lot, 3005 Old Ranch Parkway, Seal Beach, California 90740, (Seal Beach Blvd and 405/22 fwy).
Although the Ride Sign-Up List reflects differently, head count for tomorrow’s lunch stop is now up to 27!!! Weather looks to be great for the ride to Santa Ynez; remember to gas up in advance of KSU. See Ya Sooner!
