Thanks to everyone who made it today, it was a fun day!
EDIT …. CHANGED START TIME
A few folks have commented that a later start would be good since we don’t have a lengthy ride to the Rock Inn. So … let’s meet at 9:00@ Panera’s instead with a KSU @ 9:30 AM
Hopefully a change this late does not cause a problem.
Here is a route for the return trip that Bill R. graciously put together

Typo on a small iPad keyboard, sorry 😉
Yes Rob, I will get one out.
Karl, the Friday Death Valley Ride is a “must attend” meeting, which clearly trumps 2 “should attend” meetings … my $.02
Roberto let me know yesterday that Tecopa Hot Springs (night 2) is out of rooms. He was able to book at the Delight Hot Springs Resort, which is just up the street from Tecopa Hot Springs.

Book now if you are planning on joining us on this fun trip. I would also ask for any and all who are attending to please update the ride list to indicate your attendance. It will help me with some of the planning details I need to work out.
Thanks

Hear Hear !! Loved the location too 👍🏻 Many thanks from Julie and I for a nice evening.
Hey John, here’s a beauty … a little pricey and a fly & buy probably though.

Let Michael know he needs to be quicker on the draw … saw a 1973 75/5 in there on Wednesday that I couldn’t pass up 😳

Glad you’re coming Mark. We’re going to meet at Flo’s Airport Cafe in Chino this time. I haven’t locked everything down yet, but am thinking I may have a 2nd meet up spot in Randsberg later in the morning for any that want to pass on riding to Chino for the initial leg of the trip.
Great point re: helping with ride planning. I have had Panamint Springs offer to work with me on preparing a group meal for dinner … I could arrange something if I had a better idea of how many are going to make our Death Valley Ride via the ride list.
John,
I assume you told him to save a search for what he wants on Craigs List also? I see them hit there every now and then .. it is where I found my ’72 R60/5. Of course Jim is correct about the time and money spent with an old bike (45 years in my case), but I couldn’t agree more with getting what checks the right boxes for you. I have had a blast working on and riding mine (just ask Wagner or Eastly) since purchasing it in August. A non-riding buddy asked me how it compared to my ’15 RT the other day and I told him my RT is twice the bike, but riding locally, the 60/5 is twice the fun!I must agree David, another fine newsletter!!
Look forward to it Vern. Haven’t worked out the details yet, but will get busy now that Dec is here !
Vern,
I was thinking Flo’s Airport in Chino would be a good place to start the ride. It provides good group parking, a hearty breakfast for those who want one (which I assume means EVERYONE in this eating club that rides BMW’s 🙂 ) and space for a pre-ride meeting. Hope that would work out well for you.Sorry for the late reply Rob. Wasn’t certain if we could make it or not, but my wife Julie and I are looking forward to attending. Unless I hear otherwise from you, we will bring a side dish of Cream Corn Au Gratin.
add my admiration for a job well done to the list above!
My brother and I have pitched 2 tents per site before although the web site says 1 tent per site. Tent sites are $10.
Brandon, tent camping is available at both locations.
