Too loud Brandon!
nice to see you all. Thanks Mr. B!
Harry,
Cooling vests are awesome. You get them wet with cool water. They basically work by evaporation – maybe 10 degrees once moving. They last for an hour or two and then need to be soaked down again. There’s another type of vest that uses ice pack inserts. These work a lot better but you need a freezer and once they are used up they need to be frozen again. So, I guess I haven’t payed enough attention to the newsletter’s volumes and issues.
This month’s were ISSUE:YUP, VOLUME:COOTIES.
LOL!Rick, I was riding through TX a few years ago in June. It was something like 95 with 90% humidity. I was talking with one of the locals. I said “is it always this hot here?” He said with a straight face, “This aint hot”. π
You’re welcome guys.
Be sure to check out DanDan the fireman. He’s a fireman (duh) and EMT and analyzes MC crashes. Very informative! I think he mentions Karl Wagner once or twice
The SCBMWRC-GNW is going strong. There aren’t many members, ok one, but there’s no disagreement between members either. I do have a potential member. A BMW rider friend who I met at a Total Control Training class a few years ago in San Diego who also moved up here to the Great Northwest.
More really good online MC training!
For some reason I can’t post this with the URL’s

Love it! Miss you all.
It’s against the CA “stay at home” order and federal guidelines. Only essential activities are permitted. Although unlikely, you can be cited.
You know everything is being canceled for good reasons. You shouldn’t be organizing group rides right now!
What’s a “keymaster”?
Thanks Brandon. I really missed this feature.
I highly recommend camping at Indian Cove. My son is an Eagle Scout and we’ve camped there many times. There’s awesome hiking, rock climbing, and some of the best star gazing you’ll find! You’ll see lots of people free/rope climbing gigantic boulders.
Some campsite photos: Click here for photos
FYI: Potable water is at least a mile away from the campsites. Bring some kind of water container to tote drinking/cooking water. (If Larry Troffer is going maybe he can arrange a water buffalo from MCAS Yuma :-))
It is also VERY windy at night. Make sure you tie your tents down… you know those little connections all over your tent that you typically don’t use? Trust me and use them. Even when our tents were tied down well, I thought many times we were going to blow away π
The road into the campground is unpaved. It’s hard packed dirt which freaks out some non-GS riders. Also for those who like to use hammocks, Chris, the park prohibits tying lines to Joshua or Juniper trees.
This is going to be an epic trip!!!
I like the Billy Brake Light by Clearwater. It does flash on deaccelerating and has a few settings for its sensitivity. However, you also need a Can Opener to connect it to the BMW canbuss. $150 for each! If you already have Clearwater lights you’ll have their Can Opener. Otherwise it’s a bit pricy at $300 + shipping and tax.
The RV rental sounds like a lot of fun. If, however, you want to stay in a hotel, the Bishop Creekside Inn is fabulous! They have nice rooms, a heated pool, Jacuzzi, fire pits, and creekside patios with big padded couches and chairs to hang out after the day’s ride. They also include a nice breakfast with very good food. Hard to beat. It’s a little pricy, but, according to Brandon, all the hotels in Bishop are now.
