A SCBMWRC rally, $10/wk rentals from Irv’s, Presidents (besides Bill W) actually doing something, AND 25 cent raffle tickets??? Why did I leave… Ohhhh, never mind.
I went through Pocatello this afternoon, 6/21. Interstates for 2 days from Portland was boring. The last half of today though was through nice scenic ID highways. I’m meeting up with the club riders later tomorrow morning about 50m south of Jackson WY. Kind of a long shot but if Bill wants to connect up with us (and ride during the daytime) it’s a 2.5 hr ride from Pocatello to WY. If he left early morning he could catch us.
Ok folks. Don’t forget to start checking for Going-to-the-Sun Road Entry Tickets. Today’s are all gone. Check again tomorrow…
For traveling in the heat I recommend electrolyte supplements. I swear by Jigsaw Health Electrolyte Supreme powder mix. It’s basically a very high powered Gator Aid. I have one every morning on hot sweaty days. It really helps. I’ll have extras on the MOA Rally trip for anyone who wants some but I don’t meet up with the club until day 4.
I’ve had an air vest for a few years now. I removed the back pad in my suit not only because it was redundant but also to encourage me to use the air vest all the time. My air vest has no shoulder protection so I left those pads in my suit.

Thanks for the info! I followed your link and if I read it correctly (starting on 5/26) you can order tickets 2 days before you’re desired entry date. So for us that would be 6/25. However, the tickets are good for 7 days so we could start looking on 6/20.Well since David Omlor is going I decided to go too. I’ll catch you guys somewhere on the road probably around Yellowstone. I’ll be camping at the rally in if there’s room.

I hated organizing rides when I was on the board. I was terrible at it and you certainly can’t please all the people all the time ATPATT 🙂Here’s a camping tip. Get a big 70 quart cooler. Pack it full of all your camping gear. Duct tape it shut and ship it via UPS to the rally site. Camp like a king/queen with all the extras that wouldn’t fit on your bike. And, you’ll have a gigantic campground cooler for all your and your friends refreshments!
