September General Meeting

The South Coasters will return to Santa Paula Airport on Sept. 11 for our General Meeting. The first weekend is Labor Day so we moved one week later. We will meet at the Flight 126 Cafe, formally Logsdon Restaurant. The manager said we would have the side room.
Attached is the route LEAVING from Spaghettini at 0730 & the ride home on Hwy 23 & Malibu

Hi Bill – I would very highly recommend avoiding the 101 from the 405. taking the 405 to the 118 west is to your destination will be a much less congested route. The 101 should be avoided if possible!

Thanks for the input David. We always use the 118 so I thought the 101 would be a change. OK, the 118 it is. I will post a new route.

Does the Angeles Crest ride this Saturday start from La Canada?

We are starting the Angeles Crest Ride this weekend from Irv Seavers in Orange, at 12:00pm right after the 10:30am General Club Meeting. We will be doing the ride East to West, ending in LaCanada late afternoon.

If anyone is interested in meeting at 7:00am in the South Bay, 405 & Rosecrans, Starbucks, Sharon and I will be heading up the coast and Malibu Hills as time allows.

Bill/John C, based on Google maps it appears the drive time from Bill R’s staring location would result in a 9:00am meeting time at Santa Paula airport. UNO we will see you there at 9:00am.

Hey Karl we can pick you guys up at the Starbucks on Rosecrans. When I did the GPS route it said roughly two hours so that would put us at Santa Paula at 0930. I made reservations at 10am, we have the side room, so no one would have to get up a 0 dark thirty to make the meeting.
My route takes us up 405 to 118 over Balcom Canyon to Mountain Ave to the airport.

Hey, Bill, is there a stop on the 118, as I’ll be coming on the 210 to the 118, and can hook up somewhere along there. If so, approximate time?

Thanks Bill, 10am meet at Santa Paula is even better, appreciate the pick up offer, but we look forward to getting up and getting going, still will stop by the Starbucks at the 405 and Rosecrans noted above for a morning cup of coffee and KSU at 7:00am for a fun ride through the Santa Monica Mountains, will be relaxed pace as Sharon will be riding her own bike. She is eager to practice some of the class notes she took!! See you in Santa Paula, or if anyone wants hills and curves before brunch, stop by!

If anyone else in Orange County adjacent (that would be LA County) wants to meet the group at the McDonalds in Moorpark the address is 501 New Los Angeles Ave, Moorpark, CA 93021. This is a regular stop when we are in this area. There is a Starbucks in the same parking lot, just east of McD’s, but not visible from the McDonalds.
