Oct General Meeting: Irv Seavers with Day Ride to Farmhouse 78

Our October General Meeting will be at Farmhouse 78 in Santa Ysabel.

You may recall that we dined there on the patio last November.  It was a huge turnout–check out the photo!  Again, we’ve reserved the patio for a 12:30 lunch hour.  That means we’ll need to depart Irv Seavers by 9:15.  Plan on arriving early, say 8:00 am, so that you can get a cup of coffee at the Flattrack Cafe and have time to chit-chat with your friends.  Run inside and buy your last minute part or accessory.

Because of the long distance, the first part of our route will be 57 south to 5 south.  We’ll exit on Ortega Hwy, 74 west, in San Juan Capistrano.  For those in the IE, a rally point at the bottom of Hwy 74 on Grand Ave in Lake Elsinore is established.  The group–actually, probably two groups!–will travel south on Grand until Wildomar where we’ll pick up I-15 south until Exit 58 in Temecula.  From there it’s a straight(?) shot on Hwy 79 South to Farmhouse 78.

Hi members,

The October General Meeting is coming up very quickly. See above post for details. Please register as soon as possible. We need to provide Farmhouse 78 Restaurant with a head count for our reservation.

This is a great location to ride to and the staff at Farmhouse 78 go out of their way to accommodate the club. So, plan on coming to this General Meeting, register now, enjoy a great ride down to northern San Diego county and some fantastic food with friends and fellow members.

I will post gpx files for the ride down and back later this week.

As Ric has mentioned earlier, our October 7th General Meeting is a ride to Farmhouse 78  Santa Ysabel, in San Diego County.

We know this restaurant from past meetings.  They do a wonderful job of providing a space and staff to support us.   PLEASE REGESTER as soon as you can.  We need to give them a head count ASAP.

Most of us will be meeting at Irv Sievers for the ride, but some of us will jump on at the Lake Elsinore end of Ortega.

Here are the gpx files for October 7th GM.

The route down is broken in two. Irv Seavers to Rally point 1 at the bottom of CA 74 at Lake Elsinore then the second half to Farmhouse 78.

Two options for getting home. Via CA 76 and I 5 or Via Doffo Winery and back over CA 74.

If you have never been to Doffo Winery it is worth a visit, if not for the select wines then for the motorcycle collection.

We are one week out so don’t forget to sign up as we need to confirm our head count for the reservation at Farmhouse 78 Restaurant.

Hi All,

I have attached an updated gpx file for the route from Rally point 1 to Farmhouse 78.

Pete R made a point that Garmin units may direct you via Pala – Temecula Rd and CA 76, telling you to make a u Turn if you don’t comply. To prevent this, at Pete’s suggestion, I have added a shaping point at junction of CA 79 and CA 371. This should take care of this issue. (Thanks Pete!)

Late change to the route from Irv Seaver BMW Motorcycle tomorrow Saturday October 7th.

Ortega Highway, CA 74 will be under full closure this weekend.

Meet up at Irv Seaver BMW Motorcycle remains the same; 8:30 am briefing , KSU 9:15. The route will be I 5 South to Oceanside exit to CA 76 East. Right turn onto CA 79 to the Farmhouse 78 Restaurant at Santa Ysabel.

We will take a pit stop at the rest area just before Oceanside.

I will post updated gpx file for this route this afternoon.

We have an alternate meet up at the Junction of CA 74 and Grand, Lake Elsinore Market.
