We are Gearing Up for the Tech Day to be held on February 23, 2018. This is intended to wrench along side your fellow South Coasters whether it be a minor maintenance item you can do yourself, or something you would like assistance on from someone who has done it before.
      .
Think about a project you would like to get done and add to this thread:
      .
      1) Project Description
      2) Do it yourself or need help?
      3) Have all tools or need tools?
      .
A few ideas to get your ideas started:
      .
      Tire Replacement
      Engine Oil Replacement
      Gear Oil Replacement
      Final Drive Oil Replacement
      Brake Fluid Replacement
      Headlight, Tailight Bulb Replacement
      .
      GS911 Operation
      .
Accessory installation, lights, highway pegs, crash bars, windscreen
      .
      Other projects?
      .
      .
We will do our best to match those that can help with those in need, but no guarantees. Will let you know either way.
      .
      .
Remember, you need to bring all supplies you need and take home everything you brought by the end of the day.
      .
      Thank you,

      SCBMWRC BOD

            Hi Karl,

I plan on being there to support the event but don’t plan on doing any wrenching on my bike. I still need to erode 3k miles ๐Ÿ™‚

I plan to attend. I’m caught up on my own bikes. Will be glad to offer assistance. Free – and worth every penny. I’ll bring some tools needed for airheads and R / GS 1200.

Thanks Brandon and Larry…. now we need some projects…… or we could just hang around, have coffee and snacks…. we neeed Ralf to help Dale with an electrical problem again…. ๐Ÿ™‚

I will have something for sure to do, there is too much resource present to pass by!

GS911 training for me would be a great topic. Since I have one now and learning more tricks form those who have had theirs a bit longer would be awesome.

I know Eastly and I just did his 12k service on his RT, but he needs his R75 forks serviced and has an electrical gremlin in the headlight … just not sure if he is working this day or planning on attending?

I “should be” finished replacing main rear crank and trans shaft seals as well (as the oil pump o-rings) in both of my Airheads today, so I am good on personal projects (I hope) … although …. I am close to needing a front tire on my RT and I’ll bet there is an easier tire changer than my Harbor Freight one there … hmmmm

Answering the roll call with a plan to attend, projects unknown at this time.

I can bring some tire change and wheel balance equipment to supplement whatever Paul has. If you need a tire, remember to bring some wheel weights. Assuming my steel trap memory doesn’t rust over by then, I’ll bring a multimeter to chase airhead electrical issues.

Looks like we have a lot of interest in GS911 use, should be helpful. Bring your unit if you want any help on your bike. Chris, Larry and I will have our units but only hooked up to our bikes. No one is an expert on these units, but can share what we know.

I pick up my Heidenau rear tire for my F900GSA, to change on Larry’s or Paul’s changer, or by hand if needed!

I believe Bill Allen has an airhead work project, valves I believe.

Some electrical trouble shooting was talked about, but not sure what the project was.

Bring the rags and supplies you need to keep Paul’s work area clean!

Should be a good day, bring more projects if you think of them!

I plan to sync carbs, but I probably need to adjust valves first. That means I’ll “Pull a SouthCoaster” by drinking coffee and eating donuts while I let the engine cool.

I’ll bring wheel weights for those who need them.

I would like to bring my R90S and see if we can get the carbs adjusted better and synched. It runs great what it is warmed up and at speed but them wants to die as soon as I slow down to stop.
