Rock Inn Ride is on, and will have the route finalized in a couple of weeks.
-
Here is the planned route and map. I can be at Irv Seavers at 8:45 a.m., departure at 9 a.m., with arrival at 10 a.m. Panera Bread in La Canada, where we can meet those who do not want to detour to Orange. Added to the ride following Lunch at the Rock Inn is a stop at Charlie Browns in Littlerock, with some back roads to Wrightwood. (Weather/snow permitting!)
I’m using Irv Seavers as the start and stop points. 5:24 and 243 miles, not counting lunch and any other stops.

Karen and I will be at Seaver before 9am.

Hey Rick, this ride is January 16 not 23. Just keeping you honest.
-
Thanks Bill. I changed the date.
-
Thank you John for organizing a great ride. Trish and I enjoyed the day and the excellent company!
-
Thanks to Beth & John from Karen and I. We had a great time right up till getting on the 22 west when I felt the rear tire start wobbling. I got off on Haster and pulled right into an Arco station that was right there at Garden Grove Blvd. Got out my trusty little tire inflator and couldn’t get it to hold any air. I see no nails or cuts but something is wrong. Got on the phone to Progressive roadside assistance at 7:15, they should be here at 8:45.

Great ride today – good job John. And those StreetMaster lines of yours are looking pretty good!

I feel like I’m a better rider today after that ride yesterday….We had a little bit of everything but especially great scenery and good company. Thanks for making my first ride with the club so memorable!
-
We had a great time, too! A very good group. I’ll have a write-up for the next newsletter!
-
Still working on video upload from the ride but a few pictures attached from the Panera meet up.

Here is a short video of our group on the Rock Inn ride. Most of the video is of Tom C., Erasmo, John and Beth. The vistas were beautiful.

Dale – thanks for posting your video. Such a great ride to re-experience!
-
Dale – excellent use of YouTube for videos!

Here’s one for you Rick. Ran out of battery before we got into the twisty’s. Next time.

Thanks. I definitely want one scraping my valve covers in the twisties next time!
-
you got it!!
-
Dale, are there two batteries in the unit or do you run out of power for the camera & communicator together ??
-
All one battery. I can get ~ 2 hrs of straight video shooting. Have never run out of juice using just the communicator portion (radio, music, intercom). Can also plug in via bike battery if needed. I didn’t have my charger for the day ride.
-
What, no solar panels for your helmet?
