May 2nd ride to Julian – GM & lunch

We’re headed to the mountains again! Gather at Irv Seaver BMW and then ride through scenic backroads to the historic town of Julian. Come for the ride and the town’s old-timey charm, then stay for a relaxing lunch and our GM with your club-mates at the Julian Beer Company. Afterwards, seek out an apple pie at one of the local bakeries.

We are going to try something a bit different on this ride – a short section of toll road. The two possible routes from RSM to Ortega Hwy are (1) Antonio Pkwy; and (2) the southern end of Foothill Transportation Corridor (241).

The first is a cager-laden traffic light gauntlet, several miles long and ideal for getting separated more than once. The second is partially a toll road but a non-stop shot to Rancho Mission Viejo, very near our secondary meet location.

The 241 toll is less than $3 and zero effort if you have a FasTrak transponder. If not, you can go online within five days to pay. We have a long ride to our destination and this should help save some time.
